Came here for a quick bite after some shopping and ended up having 2 courses plus some wine. A sign saying under new management was on the door as we walked in-so was interested to see if the rumours were true concerning the great tastes of the new menu.
The caesar salad was delicious, fresh and made properly with pancetta (not bacon). Then for main I had fish of the day which turned out to be barramundi on a bed of herb rissotto with salsa verde which gave the fish a nice balancing touch. My friend had octopus and the pork knuckle which he couldn't stop raving about.
The service was fabulous. Our glasses were always full and our plates were quickly cleared away after we had finished. I will definitely be going back here-even if to try the pork. .Highly recommended.
Entrees good - Main meals terrible - tasted like microwaved frozen food. But thats not the worst - on leaving we were asked to have our bags searched as we had stolen glasses!! Never - ever - expect a good dinner here. An amatuer runs this restaurant.
Food was tasteless. I ordered a risotto and although the presentation was nice, it didn't taste like anything. My friend ordered the lamb cutlets, he said it was dry and tasteless. The cocktails were ordinary and apparently even the beer was flat. Very disappointing & I'm usually a very easy person to satisfy... steer clear of this one!
Went here last Sat night for our Xmas dinner. Expected something special, but it was very disappointing. The service was very ordinary and we felt like they were trying to get rid of us even before our desserts had arrived. If you do end up going here, stay away from the pizza - small, thick doughy base, bland oily topping. I have had better frozen pizzas. Not a good experience.
Food is quite good and at a reasonable price. It's a nice place to have dinner at, but the atmosphere isn't there compared to the ones right inside Italian Forum. Nonetheless, very intimate and comfy surroundings..not too packed and noisy. Great for big dinners because you can hear yourself think!
I've been here 3 times and the food is just superb! The service was friendly but a little hard to get their attention. Food arrived nice and hot. A lil pricey but worth it. My boyfriend took me here last year for our 6 month anniversary, the waiter (male) was so charming! Gave us champers on the house and a little dessert before we went. That made the night :)
Unlike when "Santo's" no crusty bread and olives/olive oil on arrival. We asked for some bread to go with our meal, did not receive it - no explanation. We also asked for more water same response again. The restaurant was not busy at the time.
Just wanted to send a huge thank you to the owners and staff of this restaurant! What an amazing night! The food was delicious and the owners and staff were so friendly. They truly accommodated our every need. By the end of the night we all became like old friends, sharing a laugh, a joke and not to mention, superb Italian cuisine!! We just wanted to say thank you and give them the biggest rap. Everyone get down to Leichhardt and try them out! They really are The Italian Forums best kept secret!! Luv 'Charlies Angels'
