The staff has a bad attitude. We used to go to this place and the standard has progressively dropped. We haven't been back for a while and won't be going back either.
Quaint little Italian restaurant. Nothing fancy but the food was great. I had penne with a capsicum/chilli sauce, delicious. My partner had tortellini which he really enjoyed as well. Service was a little fast, would have liked a little more time to enjoy the garlic bread before the mains came out. And probably the only other criticism would be that I think they should have dimmed the lights slightly because it was a little bright. Overall, a really lovely casual dinner. Definitely recommended.
Ate here on a Tuesday night, booking at 6.45 pm. Half full, which is quite busy on a weekday night, given as there was only 1 1/2 waitresses (I think they called one from round the back). Served promptly.
I got the gnocchi primavera but in a tomato sauce, substituted the bacon for mushrooms. The prawns were salty and fishy, like the ones you would find in the frozen aisle of the supermarket. Not nice at all, but gnocchi was yummy, soft, tender and very filling. We had two serves of garlic bread for the table, which was very nice. I tried my friend's fettucini carbonara, it was yummy but very dense, thick, creamy with lots of butter.
She couldn't stomach it (she was also pregnant) but I wouldn't have been able to eat the whole thing or else would have felt extremely sluggish if I did. Wine was very cheap, $3.50 for a glass or $6 a bottle (serves 4). The prices are fairly expensive given the quality and size of the meals, it will fill you up, we got entree sizes as dishes laden with cream and pasta always do.
My suggestion would be to get the sampler, where it's $20-25 pp for a selection of pizza, pasta, wine, garlic bread and salad. Probably would not come again unless a friend wanted to give it a go. Waitress did well doing it on her own.
While the decor is a bit old, this place offers good quality Italian food. My kids love it, and the staff are always friendly. We always feel we have more than enough to eat and with cash to spare. Easy family night out.
We're regulars here and will keep coming back. It's a family restaurant, no white tablecloths and no pretentiousness here, and the kids love it! I personally can't go past the whitebait and calamari with their own home made tartare sauce (unlike no other!!). And the salad dressing is the most authentic homestyle I've had and no matter how hard I try I can't quite get it quite the same at home, reminds me of my nonna's salad dressing in Sicily. The kids love the garlic focaccina (garlic pizza crust), the schnitzel. We tend to go for the seafood, the bbq scampi are to die for. Great family spot or for the not so quiet groups.
We used to come here a lot and stopped after we moved out of the area. We had dinner there tonight and enjoyed our meal immensely. We had our old favourite, the fettuccine primavera which was just as good as the old days. The food was fresh and full of flavour.
The service was very friendly and helpful. It was really good to come back to our favourite Italian restaurant, with our now family of 4. By the way also very family friendly!
This food was great and the staff were very friendly. The waitress explained the old chef is back which explains why the food was so good and the servings very generous. I found this place very affordable and think it's a great place to bring the family. Will be eating there regularly for those prices.
We live in the out west and were invited by friends to attend a function recently. We had some of the best food I've tasted in along time, the seafood marinara, fettuccine, all different types of pasta prepared, garlic prawns and sauces, all the food tasted great. The function was upstairs. Staff were great to us. Ambience was ok. Great family restaurant. Wish we lived closer but will definitely make an effort to get there again.
We ate here on a Mon night and service was very attentive (there were only 3 tables so it was pretty quiet). The calamari entree was big enough to share and the vegetarian penne and the spag marinara were both very tasty.
