Great spot for a midweek lunch. Friendly staff add to the relaxed atmosphere. I will return.

Poor service, very expensive. Dearest small cappuccino I've come across. Didn't deliver orders together (even though they were identical).

Fantastic location with the cafe perched in a park overlooking Kogarah Bay. Perfect on a nice sunny day & we took advantage of the outdoor option. The menu isn't too large but still plenty of variety from melts, burgers, fish & chips, steak, pasta etc.

The staff were friendly & the waiters checked on us in a timely manner. The wait on the food was a little long but providing you aren't in a rush I had no problems sitting in taking the views & having a few drinks in the meantime.

I chose the scotch fillet for my meal which was accompanied by greens & chips. The meal wasn't brilliant. The herb butter lacked any real flavour, it wasn't the greatest bit of meat (a bit fatty) & slightly overcooked. The other 3 people at our table however loved their meals so i will assume I was slightly unlucky this time around. Meals aren't too expensive with mains in the low to mid $20 range.

I'm happy to try again & think I might come down on a sunny summer morning for some breakfast.

Looking at the other comments here, service may be hit-or-miss. It was a hit for my wife and I when we visited Carss Park Cafe and Grill last Sunday morning. Very prompt and polite service, seated quickly upon our arrival, and served our coffee and breakfast selections soon after placing our orders.

The coffee was excellent and strong, the food was excellent. Looking forward to going back again and trying something else from their lunch menu.

Awful service. What a disappointing experience. The waiters don't tell you why ur food takes over 40mins to come out. Spiteful staff, poor management, rude staff with attitude. Looks like the staff hate being there. I have a disabled mother they made walk up the hill because they refused to open the boom gate. Wont go there again at all & do not recommend it. The food is average pub food over priced!

Great location but have seen staff chatting on a few occasions and you have to go in and ask them something they do not circulate well. Went for brunch - I ordered pancakes and got one pancake on a plate - at $12 this is the price I would normally pay and get 2 or 3 so a bit of a rip off. My companion ordered muesli with yoghurt. The waitress bought the yoghurt 30 mins after the food, by which time the muesli was eaten. Inside very noisy when busy and very stuffy/muggy if cold or wet as it is all closed up. Not a great experience, probably trading off the view rather than the service or food.

The setting and seating were both rather pleasing, service no problem. The food was tasty, and wines good, but we came away from there feeling we had paid just a little more than we would have liked, than for what we got.

The food and cooking were to a good standard, but not outstanding, but the owners lock one into a kind of "two course for $$" deal, which I find kind of unsatisfying wherever I experience it as I always think it is desigend to maximise the take. However, that was for dinner, and we came away thinking that the place, views and food would be worth coming back to for brekkie or lunch one day!

What this place has going for it is its location. For us,a table of 5 adults & 2 children, that was the best it was going to get. Fish & chips was ok,for the 2 vegetarians the options were pretty much zero,as the kitchen had sold out of the veg listed on the menu. As an alternative they were offered fish or salmon! They couldn't find it within themselves to rustle up something without meat. We'll picnic in the park next time!

This is a great spot for kids, with great coffee and ok food. However, the manager is incredibly rude. He told me we did not have a booking for breakfast despite having had a staff member call me the previous day to say that they would need the high chairs by 10.30am, was this ok? When we asked to be moved to a cooler table (as we were out in the sun), he said "no, you're not, those tables are reserved". I had made a reservation! As per other comments, there was no reserved sign on the table. The Bill was $84 for 3 adults and one child for breakfast. Total rip off. Will not be coming back here.
