Welcome to Cantina, our cuisine is Mediterranean tapas – a truly wonderful mix of both hot and cold Spanish, Portuguese, Greek and Moroccan dishes all very sensibly priced. We are fully licensed with an extensive range of local and imported wines, beer, spirits and cocktails. And yes, we definitely serve sangria! Combining exceptional food, an impressive drinks list and a very classy upstairs bar and outdoor area, Cantina has everything you need for a great dinner date, fun night out with friends or special occasion function.

Went here for dinner tonight at 6pm with 7 people. Tuesday nights 5-7pm has $10 selected tapas special. We got share plates: chorizo, steak, meatball, potato, mushroom, haloumi, empanadas, stuffed zucchini flowers etc. The food quality was good, but the servings are small (be warned), so it's not that great value for money.
The service is great. Very friendly - I came early and they sat me down and offered me water. Ambience is nothing special, but the place is clean and well lit, so no complaints.

Went to Cantina with a group of girlfriends. Food was quite good, atmosphere pretty average and staff unfortunately not very friendly (which probably impacted the atmosphere). Ordered from the set menu. There were a few vegetarians in our group so we asked for less of the meat dishes and more of the vege dishes. This seemed to be a big deal for the guy taking our order and a lot of effort. I didn't have any cocktails but the girls that did said they were really good. Overall, wasn't a bad experience but wouldn't bother going back given there are so many other good places around surry hills.

Great ambience for a social night out but can get very noisy. I don't like to be seated at the high wooden tables as the seats are slippery. There used to be an amazing English lady working as head waitress but, unfortunately, she was not there last time I went and her replacement was disappointing.
The food is always good as is the sangria. Without fail we order every time the baccalau, spinach pumpkin and goats cheese salad, angus beef, haloumi but I have to say that everything I have tried is great. I am very disappointed that the chocolate sauce for the churros has been replaced with the caramel but admit that they still taste good. Sadly no more coffee on the menu either but I suppose the emphasis is on alcoholic drinks which is what the majority want.

Very impressed with this place: Tasty food, a few good wines by the glass, friendly service, pleasantly intimate ambience (all based on a quiet weeknight visit). The only good tapas place I have found in Sydney, highly recommended!

I love this place, the food is always good as I have been here many times before and each time is as good as the last. The sangria is superb! It's a great place to go with a group but as the night goes on and the place gets packed, you'll find that it gets difficult to talk to your friends. Apart from that it's an amazing place to dine.

Ate here last Tuesday night with no complaints, enjoyed some sangria with 3 share plates and bread between 2 which certainly filled us up. We enjoyed the calamari, chorizo, and pork ribs, and all were very nice. Being a Tuesday night, the place was not really buzzing with people, so it was quiet enough to have a conversation across the table. Staff were not overly friendly, but efficient enough. All in all, a very pleasant evening!

Ate here on a cold Tuesday night so the place was very quiet so it is very hard to judge the ambience but having said that the lay out is well done with a big room upstairs as well as a small balcony out the back for the smokers.
Food wise we had 3 share plates along with some sour dough bread and all 3 were excellent. Grilled Chorizo, Dusted Calamari and Baby Back Ribs (which was probably the pick but all 3 were excellent) and we were definitely full. Some Sangria and a few Coronas along the way and it was all very enjoyable.
Will definitely come back to try some other dishes at some stage but will probably choose to do it later in the week or weekend when it is a lot busier.
Well worth a visit.

This was a great little find! Food and service was excellent and the Sangria was completely moreish. Can't wait to go back with my friends!

Have eaten here a couple of times. Tapas is good, but not great, and certainly not the best in Sydney, but what makes the food interesting is the the mix of origins. Ambience is quite reasonable (factoring that it does occupy a location on dirty, dusty, charmless Oxford Street) and service is generally efficient.

Came here after work with friends and had a fantastic time. The food we ordered from the 'specials' were very good along with the drinks. It was very busy and we had a lot of fun.
