As a central hub for the area, the Camden Valley Inn is a homely and rewarding hotel and meeting place at any time of year, not least because of the tantalising country fare on offer. With a strong history, top chefs and access to locally-grown produce, the menus are a combination of country favourites and modern delights.

Never again! I went there for dinner last Saturday night and it was so noisy from the amount of children I thought I was dining in Macdonalds playground!
When we ordered dessert it took nearly an hour to arrive and we had to sit the whole time with our dirty dinner plates in front of us. I have been there for lunch previously which had also been disappointing. I waited an eternity for my order to come and when it arrived it was almost cold and the sauce had congealed.
The girl did offer to have it remade but I was so hungry I was ready to chew my arm off. They whacked it in the microwave for me but needless to say it wasn't particularly good after that as it toughened the meat.

So if you are more than happy to enjoy a family friendly pub with a large beer garden and chill out with little in the way of huge expectations of classic food then this is your place. We were there on Sunday for lunch and there was a one man band going, jumping castles and swings for the kids and a generally positive fun vibe in the beer garden.
We were there for a friends birthday and so we were enjoying the beers and having a good time. Now the food, well my beef and guiness pie with mash and peas was Ok. I have had better but it also wasn't the worst. I think the kitchens biggest problem is a lack of organisation. They really appeared to be all over the show and it seems to be reflected in the food.
Our table had some people who enjoyed the food whilst a couple of others were below par. One dish was sent back due to fish being raw and another friend had a slug in her salad. They offered our whole table a round of drinks due to that incident and were quite apologetic. So kudos for that.
I like the pub, I like the setting but some work to be done in the kitchen.

From not having our reservation, to delivering one entree at the same time as our mains (what the?) to a nearby table catching fire which I put out because there was no wait staff, tonight was a total disaster. Tables were not cleared, waitresses continually left the kitchen and had no idea where they were going, often returning with meals.
Our frozen dessert took 50 minutes to get to us and only after asking for it. This place could be so good, but the staff have no clue how to run a restaurant. It was valentines day today and the head waiters' reason for such poor service was that they were busy, even though they had reservations. Food ok, service disgraceful.

I have to admit I was a bit reluctant to go to CVI after reading some of the reviews on here, but I had won Accomodation and Food and Drinks and thought I better just go and check it out. We ordered dinner on a Saturday night. I was very busy as there was 3 different party bookings going on there. We order garlic bread, which was ready in approximately 5 minutes, I ordered the Wagyu Burger and my hubby ordered the twice cooked Pork Belly. My burger was pretty standard but ok, the pork belly ribs would have to be the best meat I have eaten in a very long time and as I am writing this, I am craving them :)
The serving size was "massive" that we both could not finish our meals and believe me I was starving before we ate. The meals were ready within about 15 minutes and the place was busy, busy, busy. Drinks were good, we ordered to cocktails at $12 each and a couple of beers at around $4.00 each. The staff were polite, courteous and helpful. I would definitely go back again and definitely recommend this place. The scenery was great, great for kids as well, the pub looks good, a few locals hang out in the sports bar/gaming room. Only downside is that my hubby said the male toilets were filthy. I have to say the female ones were quite clean. Accomodation was fantastic. Had a great day/night there. There was even a live band. A+

This is a great looking pub from the outside so I've given it plenty of chances. I'd really love this place to be great but the food is dreadful. The garden is excellent but it gets crowded on weekends. The senior staffs clearly can't be bothered changing anything because the place is always full on saturday and sunday. Sometimes you wait forever to be served the sort of food you buy in the frozen section of the super market.
It's unlikely to be cooked properly and you'll pay about $20-$30. This is probably the most expensive place to eat in the Macarthur region but I doubt the kitchen staffs taste their own food or are interested in food at all. Have a beer here but go somewhere else for food.

This is a great place to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon in the sun, with a pint of Kilkenny's ahh yes. The food and general service, however, hmm. We ordered a light meal and it took 1.5 hrs and was ordinary at best. Such a great location, but the food and service component needs an overhaul.

Went here last winter, glad to see they sell pints in straight glasses, food was reasonable, and we scored a table right next to a roaring log fire. The sports bar attached to this pub seemed to be "bogan" central however.
Went back recently, food is still just ok, restaurant very hot, (no aircon?), starter of prawn cocktail and we had to peel the prawns ourselves!, for $17 for 6 prawns, you would think they could peel the blooming things for you!

This place is very nice, unfortunately, the service we received was very poor. We booked dinner on Sat 16th Jan at 7:30 pm. After ordering it took approximately 1 and half hours for the food to be delivered. Entrees and main meals were delivered at the same time, the mains were wrong, not properly cooked and cold. It is a shame that such a nice place in this area has to be so poorly managed.

Been to the Camden Valley Inn a few times was even married there in 2008, had a chicken schnitzel with salad and chips very nice, also had the lemon meringue excellent nice tasting very happy will go back just to have that lemon meringue pie again, service was reasonable, not sure if I like this idea of having to go of and get ur own gravy's and things if you order it, it should come on your plate but all round a nice relaxing tuesday lunch.

Went there last Saturday night with the family. The menu lacked creativity, nutrition and variety. On top of that it wasn't well made and the quality of food average. For example, ordered the fish and chips, the batter was thick and didn't coat the fish as it should have. Also expensive for what it was.
Service was shocking, had to line up at the bar for at least 10 minutes then I ordered a glass of the house red and the bartender disappeared for awhile with no explanation of what was happening. The other bartender had to get another staff member to find him!
There were only two bartenders for a busy Saturday night service as well. I will never go there again.
