Overview
Buzzy and Alive Italian Eatary (Trattoria). Great food wine and service only using the best Australian Ingredients often sourced from our farm in the Southern Highlands.
The Flavours are all Italian with a unique and innovative touch.
All pasta's are house made daily and menu options like the Suckling Pig, Duck breast and Calamaretti are hard to pass.

I have been meaning to try this restaurant again after spending a great night there for my father's 60th. Well Dad has just turned 70 so it was long overdue! We went on a friday night and the restaurant was packed. We had a fantastic dinner. Highlights were the scallops, lamb and suckling pig (that was pretty much everything!
The desserts were lovely too. Portions were generous and the flavours so clean and satisfying. It has been a very long time since I have been to a restaurant and there has been so many things that I have wanted to try. The service was great. Very friendly staff but also very professional. We will be back.
*thumbs up* after celebrating my b'day there last night! Its the best Italian restaurant I have tried in Syd. Great variety of food, lovely and friendly staffs, cool manager Ray, warm and welcome atmosphere! All 12 of us enjoyed all the courses. Suckling pig is really good! Home-made pasta is extraordinary lovely too.
The only opinion about the main is the lamb loin, they didn't expect that the lamb are in pieces. The chocolate duo stands out in all the desserts but it will be too much to have the white pudding (I guess? not sure with the name) with the chocolate almond pudding. The white pudding is a bit rich and comparatively light in taste to go with the hot chocolate almond pudding. The hot chocolate almond pudding in the cup is very nice. Its a shame that I am full after having the chocolate cup, no room for white pudding.
I am surprised and satisfied with the innovative combination of the dishes. Definitely will visit the yummy food and lovely staffs again, probably a Christmas lunch/end of uni party!
My husband and I had dinner at Cala Luna on Saturday evening. We had an early reservation as we had only booked on the day and they were understandably fully booked for later tables.
A few dishes deserve a special mention: The scallop entree was superb (the best scallops I have ever tasted and perfectly prepared) and their pasta dish with scallops and prawns was also one of the most flavoursome pasta sauces that I have tasted. The fillet was tender and well prepared. Our desserts were also worth a mention: the lemon tart and the chocolate duo (with the white chocolate semi-freddo) were both delicious.
The service was good, although it slowed noticeably as the restaurant filled up. It is a lovely, atmospheric restaurant when it is busy. The only shame was that they had run out of decaf coffee to end our meal with. We used their $49 special offer, but figured that it would not have cost a lot more if we hadn't, to give an indication of prices. We were very impressed with our meal and definitely plan to return. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening and great food.

We ate here few times in the past but not any more. Instead charging for a 2 glasses of wine they simply bill us for 2 BOTTLES. Phonecall, visit and letter fall on deaf ears. No refunds no apology.

Really loved this restaurant, well spaced tables, great menu, interesting wine list. The service was friendly and attentive. Food came out promptly. The home made pasta dishes were delicious, my wife said her steak was perfect, and my suckling pig had 3 generous sized pieces that were all tender. The eatability special offer of 3 courses for $49 made this meal a bargain for this quality of restaurant. Well done.

Making the patsa to my Nonna's Old recipe with our own organic eggs really makes a difference as you so kindly expressed. The steaks both the Wagyu and the 140 day grain fed are of the finest quality and i glad that they where enjoyed.

Shhhh.... don't tell too many people about this one only close family and friends. Its a delightful little italian with a real family feel set up by the polite and attentive waitstaff who make you feel at home.
The food is a product of love and devotion and it really shows. It was one of those rare dining experiences when you don't know what to expect but are churlishly surprised at every turn, it made a truly memorable experience. This humble little restaurant at the Spit really delivers inspired food without all the bigtown pretence from across the creek. Can't wait for our next visit!
