The team at Cala Luna welcomes you to try what we believe is some of the best Italian food in Sydney with a fantastic view.
Cala Luna is one of the few restaurants in Sydney where food on the menu is sourced from the owner's farm in Bowral, in the Southern Highlands.
Our head chef has 15 years of Italian culinary experience and is constantly working to improve and maintain items on the menu.
We are open from Tuesday through to Sunday for lunch and dinner, 12pm and 6pm respectively.
Cala Luna is a family orientated, fine dining Italian restaurant with fantastic water views where the staff love being able to serve every guest as if they were in their own family home.
We invite you to dine with us at Cala Luna to experience some of the finest views and Italian food Sydney has to offer.

Great Food, Great Location! On a recent trip to Sydney from the Gold Coast, I was taken for dinner to Cala Luna at The Spit, Mosman. It was most enjoyable sitting watching the yachts bobbing up on the waters as the sun began to set. What a great spot! We found the service to be excellent; helpful and unobtrusive.
We had the Carpaccio and the Quail Salad, the Carpaccio, with Walnut Pesto, probably the best I’ve had. For mains we had the Duck and Beef Cheeks, both outstanding, the duck with Blood Orange and Campari was particularly imaginative and enjoyable. Then we finished off with the Panna Cotta and the White Chocolate Mousse.
This was truly a great experience; this is a restaurant that believes in reasonable serves of great food. A noshery not to be missed!

What a great place to dine, Cala Luna ticks all the boxes, great views, great staff, and the food is to die for; not just prissy drops with dribbles of sauce, but substantial serves. Apparently much of their produce comes from the family farm near Bowral, it certainly tastes fresh and great. We'll be back Robert. Thanks for the great service!

Great restaurant for real dining experience. To us this is not so much a fine dining restaurant but rather a restaurant that uses great produce and offers professional yet friendly service. We have eaten here several times and we generally eat the same dishes The eye fillet with and the fish or pasta. Always really good produce and a good plate of food. Thank You.

I recently wanted to take a business mentor from the Northern Beaches to lunch. My office is in Crows Nest, so I thought the Spit was a great, half way destination for both of us. I Googled restaurants at The Spit and came across Cala Luna, and thought it looked great. Turned out, my friend had already heard about it, and was keen to try it.
My mate had Oysters, while I had the Calamari, Oysters succulent, Calamari tender. My friend had the Filet and I had the Whole Flounder, the steak was cooked to perfection, and my flounder was beautiful and moist.
We finished off with a great selection of cheeses. We had a productive, and enjoyable lunch, and the staff were great, attentive but without impinging on our space. Thank you Cala Luna and team!

Had dinner here last night for the first time. I had the beef for main which was beautiful! The Mittagong mushrooms were most delicious too. I finished off with the chocolate tart which was to die for.
My only negative with this restaurant is the slow service, in particular when I needed my water glass refilled. I drank water all night and suggested to the waiter that he leave a water jug on our table which he did not. I then constantly had to chase him - and sometimes ask multiple times - to have my glass refilled. By the end of the night he thought that every time we summonsed him, it was for him to fill our water glasses. Apart from this we had a nice dining experience and I would go again.

Hello Anthill,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review.
There are a few emails that discuss service and I will review them in greater detail as well as taking off the chef whites and doing a few shifts on the floor to enable the team with skills to move more effectively. We do an indepth training when staff begin with us but that may also need to reviewed from current feedback.
The Angus beef from our farm is special just simply done with a variety of Mittagong tunnel mushrooms and jus. The chocolate tart is also a nice way to finish for those with a sweet tooth.
If a guest ask for a just of water to be left on the table it should also be done ad I will remind the staff that we are here to serve our guests. Thanks
Anthill and I look forward to seeing you again.
Regards
Michel

Have been coming to Cala Luna for the past 8 eight years in it's current location and at now at the yacht club twice. We have always found Cala Luna's quality to be high but our latest experience was something special.
The service was casual yet professional, they seem to have a lot of older staff that seem to know good service is not just carrying a plate (they make their guests feel welcome).
The food was also a refreshing change to the fine dining touch with some more classics that we had seen years ago. Antipasto had a mix of some the entrees. We also shared a prawn salad that was simple but worked so well. The mains I had the suckling pig that is the best I've had in Cala Luna or on the north shore. My husband had the Italian fish and chips that was with grilled fish and was presented well.
No dessert but a cheese plate to finish with mostly Italian cheeses and one English Orange Blue? Tasted great though. Only negative is that we missed out on a seat on the balcony.. will request when booking next time. All over great experience.
Response from Management:
Hello BillyK and thanks for taking the time to post a review.
Thanks for being a loyal customer of Cala Luna for the past eight years your loyalty is appreciated.
Casual yet professional and refreshing changes to fine dining are for us exactly what we are aiming for. We are not pretentious with our service, food or atmosphere but rather relaxed and professional.
The suckling pig is now de boned on location at the spit and filled with house made italian sausage.. and the crackling is amazing.
Cheese is a great way to finish and the orange blue is great cheese from the UK called Shropshire Blue (it's colour and flavour contrast is amazing).
Thanks again for taking the time to post a review and your patronage over the past 8 years.
Regards
Michel

Staff friendly and knowledgeable about dishes (surprisingly a rarity now)! Menu seems progressive with homage to the traditional Italian. Not quite fine dining, but interesting and a great location.
Response from Management:
Hello Tasty review and thanks for taking the time to post a review.
Our manager of 4 months Daniel at the restaurant has done a fantastic job informing, training and briefing all staff at the restaurant.
They all well informed where all of our produce derives from and its essence of flavor in the dishes. Its great to work with professional of this nature as it lets us extend the kitchen into the dining room.
I like your description of the food "Progressive with homage to the traditional Italian." That is what our belief is of what we do .. not fine dining just produce driven food done well!
Thanks for the review I really like the summary.

Hello Andre and thanks for taking the time to post a review.
I am also a little surprised at the reviews below, but this is an open forum and sometimes it may get used for the wrong reasons (unhappy employees) but everyone is entitled to post a review and we listen to and take feedback from all reviews.
The Char grilled steak by our 2 Star English chef and In house butcher George is doing a great job with Myself and father literally getting our beef from paddock to plate. We are excited about what we can offer and we believe that it is produce at its best.
Once again thanks for taking the time to post a review.
Regards
Michel
