It was my second time there: first time wasn't great, pizza wasn't really nice but there was a nice manager called Rayn, Btw we went back only because it was Easter monday and most pizzerias were closed.
Before going we called to ask if the restaurant was BYO and they told us Yes, Wine and Beers, no problem. So we were 9 of us and we bought 4 bottles of wine and a some beers. When we arrived there after sitting, the senior staff came and told us the restaurant wasn't byo and he left. So I went to talk to him explaining that someone on the phone told us the opposite and then we bought drinks but he was very rude and impolite, and without listening he kept saying the same with his bad english: We are fully licensed, that's it, without trying to understand the misunderstood.
So we Walked Away and We'll never return there until that manager will be there. Definitely rude.

Best pizza and tiramisu place for me in Sydney! Really good ambience, and service. Sometimes can be overcrowded and noisy, but I don't care. Prices are on the upper side.

Perhaps I had a different experience to everybody else because the party I was with are known to the owner. I found Caffe Roma to be excellent. Great pizzas, great desserts, great antipasto, great service.

As much as I would love to rate things like the food and ambience, we didn't even get into the place; which was quite ridiculous, seeing as we made a booking for a group of us prior. Yet when we arrived at the time we had booked for, we were made to wait out on in the cold, on the street for our table.
Not wanting to make too much of a fuss, we waited. Fifteen to twenty minutes in, we finally got the attention of the maitre d' to ask what exactly was the hold up with the table; this was met with an outright glare and an incredibly curt demand (not a request, a demand) to wait. Which was laughable, considering. More time past, although every time we attempted to get the maitre d's attention, he made no hiding of the fact that he was deliberately ignoring us.
Finally, 45 minutes out in the cold, we asked what on earth was going on. After a slight spat, he - in the fashion of a three-year-old having a tanty - told us we were no longer getting our table, and actually swore at us in the process. The moral of the story is, for all the apparent "chic" going on here, don't even bother. They are incredibly rude and have no concept of customer service what so ever. Disgusting.

I had been here once before a while ago and was pleased with the pizzas but I never really paid much attention to anything else. I went last night for a light dinner and have never been so appalled by the service.
We were taken to our table and not given menus, so we had to wait for a few waiters to walk passed and actually hear our requests for a menu. Then I told a waiter that we were ready to order and he rudely told me to wait and served everybody else, completely ignoring us. Someone eventually came to serve us. One of the things we asked for was a simple bowl of chips and they gave us baked potatoes instead, without consulting us, as they had no fries. They then gave us an undressed salad. I had enough. We walked out.

If you're going to charge as much as this place does why employ retards? The male waiter was useless and didn't have the common sense to clear plates after a course, bring cutlery relevant to the food that was being eaten, offer parmesan, pepper or even water (was mid-30's here today).
His partner in crime, the female waitress was absolutely useless, she managed to mistake me saying spaghetti VON-GO-LE and pointing at the item on the menu, and instead heard (and indeed saw) spaghetti SCAM-PI, quite an extraordinary feat in it's own right, and then no apology while my wife is having a go eating her (very average and overcooked) pasta dish while I am sitting there like a lemon.
Anyway, the food was as follows, bruschetta pizza is excellent, spaghetti vongole not bad and the 'chef' invented a vegetarian pasta dish that I would be embarrassed to serve in my own home (amazingly for an italian restaurant the menu boasts about three veggie dishes).
So, overall not impressed and struggling to see how the place is in business or makes any kind of profit, especially when you're paying $28+ for an average pasta dish coupled with woefully inadequate service. We will not return.

The one time I went to Caffe Roma happened to be a great experience. Maybe I got lucky, but the food was amazing and reasonably priced, wait staff were friendly. I went with two girlfriends and we each ordered a different gnocchi which came out in generous portions (I doggy bagged mine).
Only minor complaint would be that the restaurant was a little too dimly lit. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

This place makes me angry. It seems people only go there as its "Cool". It would be cool if the quality was higher, service was better, and prices were lower, much lower. We had group of 7 and cost as $400 plus. We don't mind paying that if food is worth it. The setting is nice but place is full of people of think quite highly of themselves. Thanks, but no thanks.

Its unfortunate to have read past reviews and they not have enjoyed Caffe Roma, because I have been here several times, with friends, family, work etc. we now have regular dinner outings here. Food is great, great quality fresh, the parmesan cheese is amazing, mmm, the toppings are "just enough" to satisfy you, not over the top. I had the best warm prawn and avocado salad there once, but my favourite is the pesto gnocchi, (as is everyone elses) always worth trying different dishes but my favourite restaurant.
Waiting for a great night 2 take my bf and his mates, its always busy so I expect it to take a while for food but its never a long wait, we drink strawberry daquiris while waiting for our delicious entrees.! This place is fun, uplifting and has a good vibe to it. A real italian touch, feel like part of the family when I walk in. I guess its each to their own, I'm young so I love this scene. I don't mind noise, I like having a few drinks while I wait, but if you don't like noise busyness etc, its not for u.
ps I Love the paper and crayons to draw on the table with, fun night for a big group of friends.
