This place never fails me. The food is always good quality and served in good time. The coffee is always done how you want. The juice options are plentiful. The outdoor area allows a nice atmosphere. A great place for locals to come and enjoy some all day breakfast.
Not sure what all the hype is about this place. The food and service is average. The decor and atmosphere has a lot to be desired. Much better around I feel.
Just having moved into the area we went up for a sunday breakfast. Our first option was fully packed as was our second. We made our way to Cafe Sophias. Hmmm the front seats outside were taken so we ended up down the back in what seemed to be a make shift shed with a caravan toilet. It seemed an eternity until we got served and when we finally did I am quite sure we had the restaurant disgruntled staff serving us (they just did not want to be there).
Food was ok, typical cafe food, service miserable and the atmosphere is severely lacking. Needless to say we made a reservation at our first choice for the next weekend.
Great cafe. It knows exactly what it is and who its customers are. I moved to Erskineville about a year ago and Sofia, along with Bitton, are my favourite place in the area. Great for breakfast and lunch but had some cracking dinners there as well.
Great Cafe, Excellent Vaule! The Muffins and Coffee are awesome! I have never had a bacon sandwich that tastes soooo good! The staff are really nice... they are a family and aways working really hard.
This place definitely has a lot of loyal patrons. Great coffee, sometimes line too long but pretty efficient staff. The old dude (one of the owners) who stocks the fridge each day is really pleasant. Some of the other waitstaff can be a little quirky. Daily muffins also quite tasty, never too sweet or too greasy
Excellent cafe, brilliant value. I agree it has the best coffee in Erskineville, but only when the young guy makes it - the old man isn't a good barista. Yes, the waiting staff are vague but they're still friendly in my experience.
I have not experienced any problems in the cafe, maybe some reviewers should just go back to St Ives and eat cheese and tomato sandwiches for lunch ... Very generous and laidback, when I was studying they let me sit in the cafe all day with my laptop using their power point. I will always be grateful for cafes like this one, caters to all tastes and peoples, no wonder it's the most popular in Erko.
Good coffee and toasted sandwiches. Friendly, but somewhat aloof staff. As a first timer, I was unaware that there was no table service (orders are to be placed at the counter), it would be good to add this note to the extensive menu.
