Overview

Voted "Best Brasserie / Café 2005" by the Australian Hotels Association (NSW). Café Mix is a novel 190 seat all-day-dining restaurant: a lighter, brighter, interactive dining environment with the focus very much on 'fresh'. Mixed aromas of freshly cooked cuisine from all corners of the globe are enhanced by the skills of Café Mix's theatre-chefs working their magic at live cooking stations. The mouth-watering dessert selection and chocolate fountain are impossible to resist!

I went here for my anniversary expecting it to be top notch food and quality service I had been so excited, then I looked at what there was to eat there had not been much of a variety what so ever the food was awful its so not worth the $80 odd dollars when you have to pay so much for drinks as well very poor quality I never will go back there or reccommend it to anyone.

I read the reviews from this website before I went to have a buffet dinner tonight with my family. I made a booking for 2 adults and 1 year old child. The food was awesome, specially the choices of desserts was fabulous. The choc fondue, marsmallow are heaven. Fresh seafood buffet selection such as fresh oysters, yabbies, and spinner crab definitely for seafood lovers.

The service is great, friendly staffs and child friendly environment. Would definitely come back and highly recommended.

We came down here on Tuesday for our anniversary. I think that this is one of the best buffets I have ever been to. The food is always excellent quality with a great variety. The desserts are amazing alone. What is also great is that the buffet area is always kept immaculate and spotless. Love this place.

We went here on Saturday for lunch and loved this place! The service was excellent and prompt. The buffet is divided into different sections for salads and seafood, Western, Japanese, Chinese and India cuisine, as well as a superb selection of blissful desserts, such as crème caramel, tiramisu, chocolate fudge cake, white chocolate mousse, lemon meringue, mini macaron, strawberry mousse, ice cream, bread pudding, cheesecake, fresh fruit and 2 huge chocolate fountains (white & milk chocolate)…

Although I didn’t find anything from any of the cuisines too fascinating, but the desserts at Café Mix definitely makes this place a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. Be sure to book early as quite a lot of seats may be taken by tourists who stay at the hotel.

Sushi was great. Didn't try many of the other hot dishes but out of the ones I did try, they were all average or better. The seafood buffet is great here (crab, oysters, prawns). Everything looked very fresh and it was well presented. The dessert bar is the highlight. There were so many desserts to try (mini pavlovas, sweet shots, chocolate fondue). It was amazing! $58 on a weeknight wasn't nasty...but drinks are not included in the price, so be aware.

Great night choice and variety was amazing. Loved the Chinese and seafood. Great to see the chefs cooking live, restaurant looks tired and needs a bit of love.

I have been to this Buffet twice in the last two months, once as a couple and then just recently in a group of 15. On each occasion (a saturday and a friday evening) we found the service great. There is a great variety of food which is constently being replenished and for $68, you can't beat this value for money. I started with 5x Lobster tails, 4x balmain bugs and about 2doz oysters + a delicious anti-pasto selection and this was just the entree.

My french pal, Didoo could only complain that there were no esCARGOt on offer. Its a Buffet I said, one comes here for lots of variety and value for money, if you are looking for gourmet then you look for a-la-carte elsewhere, maybe in Coogee I guess.

Made a booking for lunch, and was very excited about the meal prior to the day. But was very disappointed upon arrival since no one in the lobby would help you when clearly looking lost. The food was not bad, however, the variety in selection was very limited. Also, the food display cards were of no help what so ever.

And the service, I would have to agree with previous comments that service was very disappointing considering the high star rating of the hotel. The decoration, nothing spectacular. Overall, I would not really recommend this restaurant to anyone who is considering good service and good food, relative to its price.
