Our first experience here a couple of months ago was great! Our waiter was very enthusiastic and the snickers thickshake we ordered was to die for! Our dinner of pasta was nice, well priced but nothing spectacular.
A must-try is definitely the snickers thickshake. I have never tried drinking peanut butter and icecream through a straw before. It was great!! Big glass for $4.50 between the two of us and still we didn't finish it!
What is wrong with everyone? I absoultely love this place, it does a killer hazelut latte and their garlic bread is to die for! The food is great, I eat here about 3 times a week, it's a great local, and the service is fantastic.
The owner is always happy to help with anything and food is prompt and served hot. Fantastic definitely recommend.
This restaurant has character! The staff are friendly and the boss in particular has charisma and is great with the kids.
We went on a Saturday for dinner and the octopus was the best I have had. Some places make it tough and chewy. This was done just right. It does get a little noisy, but if you go there a little early (say 6pm), you should avoid most of it.
The food was enjoyable and the flavours and value were good too. (They have an all-you-can-eat pasta deal). We spent around $30 per person for entree, meal and dessert. They are hard positioned for ambience (being near the highway) and have their walls painted yellow, but pick good music and have some sofa's for comfort minded diners.
Overall, I felt quite satisfied after eating here, and would enjoy coming again.
Ugh...this used to be a good local, but with the (many) change of hands it hasn't been so great. Food is REALLY average and I used to only go here for coffee until....I had a friend who applied for a job here and they wanted to try her out on the spot (free labour!!!) She said the kitchen was a mess. With this thought in mind, I only go here if I have to.
I was disappointed with this cafe. The food sounded more promising on the menu, for example the open steak sandwich- very average. Won't be going back.
Food is standard cafe fare - the pasta sauce was watery but heaped with toppings. The coffee raises the food to a 6 - not many other places do a late night coffee that good. Ambience is non-existent, the decor is ordinary and it gets noisy. Service was top notch apart from when we wanted second coffees. I've been to $100/head restaurants with worse service.
Had breakfast here on Saturday morning. The service was attentive and prompt.
Atmosphere was excellent to be able to chat and enjoy the peace of a saturday morning. The food I had was the steak and egg sandwich with lemon and lime bitters. The steak and egg sandwich had a homely feel to the food and once bitten into it, it was quite good to eat. The amount of money you paid for the whole meal was reasonably cheap and good for what appropriate for what was being served. This place does have non dairy and soy alternatives on the menu.
Great location with loads of potential. Always packed during weekday nights. Insomnia has a monopoly on cafes in the 2120 postcode as it's really one of the few cafes open at night. However despite its potential, this cafe has never been fully taken to what it could become. Ultimately, it has fallen short with the menu being ho-hum and prices not reflective of the quality they suggest. The place could use a paint - the baby poo brown/ yellow walls are not attractive.
