Worst nachos ever! Huge and bland with many layers of chips, very strange chilli/meat mix and tasteless discoloured guac. Service is ok. Frappes ect nice enough. But food very average, mine was horrible and the friends I dined with not much better.
Went today for a late afternoon lunch. Ordered the lamb burger which was sensational with chilli jam and fetta cheese. Service was ok, however, when the waiter knocks your fork off the table and says he will replace it, you'd expect him to follow up, he never returned.
We have a really bad experience with this place, awful customer service, rude to the customer. The coffee was ok though. We will never recommend this coffee shop anymore to people who like good atmosphere with great customer service
Nice little jewel of Newtown. Decent breakfast, nothing fancy, just good wholesome food. Coffee is also decent. I have been here a number of times (breakfast only though) and have had no problems with ambience or service. Can get busy at times (especially weekends, but that's normal really). This is a no fuss decent cafe.
Not one of my usual haunts, nevertheless was starving on King St the other weekend and this was the first place we walked past. There were tables free and I remembered I had quite a decent breakfast here a few years back... worth a shot?
Big mistake... service although friendly was not particularly prompt or great. Breakfast when served was awful. The satay burger used sauce from a can (my girlfriend reckoned she could pick the brand) and soggy iceberg lettuce. The ham-cheese-tomato omelette was soggy and offensive to the taste buds, a great deal of salt and pepper was required to barely mask the taste of cheap cheese and straight from the packet, perfectly round ham. The coffee was bitter and watery. All this may be perfectly acceptable fare when you're cooking for yourself at home but I don't call my kitchen a cafe.
To her credit the perfectly hostess did enquire as to why we had not finished our coffee, and when told it was undrinkable it was stricken from our bill (much to the barista's horror we observed). We didin't have the heart to say anything about the food at the time.
A bit of a casual. Good Coffee, AMAZING ambience. Love it. Fast service. You should always be able to flag down a waitress or a waiter. Though I'll admit, I've had to walk to the counter a couple of times to ask for water.
A good little cafe - well priced, clean and nice staff, the food is decent. I've never had anything I didn't like but I wouldn't rave about the food either. We are often here when it's busy and we never wait too long to be served or get our meal unlike some cafes when they are busy.
I was absolutely shocked by the rudeness of the waitress. I have never been to a cafe with less polite waitstaff. The food was fairly awful as well, to be frank. Despite having a good coffee here once before, this was one of the worst cafes I had ever been to.
We often have breakfast here. It can get a little crowded but it has a nice relaxed vibe about it. The food is always good, very fresh and decent size servings. The milkshakes are really good too.
