Lunch time not very busy. Great location and view from the front tables. No ambience whatsoever. Food ok. Won't hurry back. Will try something else next time.
As a regular Cafe Brisa's customer I would highly recommend this restaurant. Eaten here for several years and cannot fault the food or service. The staff and owner are lovely and always go out of their way to cater to your needs.
Very nice modern cafe with candle light dinners, heated nicely and cosy in winter time. The food and service quite efficient especially to eat there before a night out, not to mention very tasty. I'm a regular.
I'm a regular customer at Cafe Brisa and I thoroughly enjoy the food. Portions are great and staff and chef are flexible to special requests from customers with regards to the food. Great variety of dishes all cooked to a high quality. Service is good with friendly waiters and relatively fast service. I've tried many of the cafes and restaurants around in Manly and myself and my partner would definitely recommend Cafe Brisa for a visit.
We have had two meals here. The first meal we had was lovely. I had the scallops and the seafood risotto and my husband had the calamari and the fish and chips, the food was very nice.
We decided to treat ourselves and go again. This time my husband ordered the barramundi with spicy beetroot sauce - it was a very odd combination and was not that good. I ordered the seafood risotto again as I had enjoyed it previously but sadly it was of poor quality. The plate arrived with the risotto slopped all over the sides of the dish. The meal is served with two large mussels in the shell. One of the mussels was completely closed - this means that you can't eat it; I thought the kitchen staff would have realised this when he served it. The squid was really really chewy- completely over cooked and the risotto was just swimming in the sauce and was overcooked so it had no "bite" to it.
When the waitress took away my barely eaten meal without asking why I had hardly touched it, I politely told her why. She just shrugged her shoulders and said "oh, ok" and then gave us the bill for the full amount. Great service. We are not the type of people to make a fuss and complain about things but I really resent paying for a poor quality meal, and I hate bad service even more.
It’s a shame because the first time we went we thought it was lovely, we did wonder why it always seemed to be so quiet in there compared to all of the other restaurants in the surrounding area, and I guess we now know why! Save yourself the hassle and try one of the other superb restaurants in the area...
Just another restaurant in Manly....nothing outstanding, food portions large but tasteless and served with the usual huge pile of chips. Tables were too close together, no real atmosphere. Lots of better places around, I suggest you walk past this place, you won't miss anything.
We are Manly locals & wanted to try somewhere different for dinner a few weeks ago so tried Cafe Brisa. The Salt & Pepper Calamari was flavoured with an unidentified spice which was neither salt nor pepper. Actual quality of the calamari was fine.
We both ordered a Scotch fillet topped diane sauce with garlic prawns. Both our Scotches came out medium even though we ordered one rare & one med-rare. The steaks had been cut too thin & I can get better quality meat from Coles. The whole thing was drowned in Diane sauce & a white creamy garlic sauce. The vegetables were uninspiring.
With our own bottle of wine byo the whole thing cost $100 - a rip off for what it was, we will never go back.
