Breakfast and food is great. Coffee is reliably unreliable. Echos a lot. One of the best cafes. Alter opening hours would have me returning in evenings, maybe for dinner!

I've been here for breakfast a few times and have always enjoyed it. The breakfasts are always big servings, well cooked and the coffee is good, particularly for the suburbs. Service can get a bit harried when they are busy, but they are always pleasant. I don't much like having to order at the counter, but that's a small issue.

Setup: 6 ppl, 5 dishes, $82. Went there for lunch on Apr 30, 2011 and I was disappointed with the whole experience, this place is good for singles to sit for a coffee/drinks chat, not to have proper meals.

Food: Pumpkin soup was closer to a dessert, too sweet. Salmon Salad was nice but the lettuce was old and dark around the edges. Chicken Pasta had 2 pieces of chicken and lots of olives. Smoked Meat Platter for 2 was ordinary. The Muffin of the day was fresh.

Ambience: bad location, opposite Coles and surrounded by 2 bare pieces of land. The place gives the impression it is not looked after: stashed up items lurk in the corners. Toilet door has no sign. Tables have scratches and floor looks dirty.

Service: they crammed us 6 on a table of 4 that made us very uncomfortable as there was no place to put all the dishes and share them. The high chair was dirty and the waitress was untidy.

Value: the portions are small we all left hungr. The salad main was an entree size and charged at $18 but the real Rip Off is the meat platter for 2: not big enough for 1 person with 3 slices of bread, 3 pieces of meat x 3 kinds of meat and costs $33.50.

This cafe is the gem of Epping. The staff are always warm, friendly and attentive. Never any trouble to park. I have also had a private birthday function at Cafe Topiary and they set up the restaurant for us beautifully with attention to detail which made us feel special. I love that this family run business supports local schools enabling students to gain work experience for their hospitality courses. My cousin worked in the kitchen for her experience and loved every minute! Great food, ambience and service. Go cafe Topiary!

What a rip off. There was about ten mosquitos inside and the coffee from "campos" whatever that is, was awful and burnt. The girl at the counter looked like she just woke up and there was people, including a kid, going back and forth through the serving area to the cafe. Was very unprofessional and when my coffee was ready she just looked at me and handed me the cup. Not even a thank you or a have a nice day or anything. I'll never be going back and $4.60 for a Latte? Are you joking? I should have checked it for flies first.

This is a great cafe, but you really want to be sitting outside, it does get crowded and loud inside, I've had breakfast a couple of times, the big breakkie is big, and for the price you would want it to be, the food is traditional cafe quality, not fine dining. Coffee is pretty good, and even when the service is a little slower the staff are friendly and warm!. Topiary is a little more expensive, but a spring or summer lazy breakfast out on the deck-is well worth the extra few dollars.

Bit pricey for a local cafe, good location, nice deck out front but the inside is boxy and noisy. Very clean.

This cafe is a nice treasure of Epping, located close to the station. It has nice Campos coffee, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The food and coffee is a little expensive, but is expected for a small business. Sitting on the balcony on a sunny day is divine, and provides a nice backdrop for a pleasant afternoon catch-up with a friend.

This is my preferred local cafe, and I would love to support this cafe more often but, unfortunately, the opening hours are variable and it seems that everytime I want to visit they are closed! In these situations I have to resort to Gloria Jean's instead, which has coffee of a poorer quality and a busier, bustling atmosphere filled with noisy teenagers.

Of the limited food options in Epping, this is probably one of the better cafes. Coffee is good, food is above average but overpriced for what it is.
