Went here for pre-dinner drink with the girlfriend last week. Not impressed with the service. When we walked out of the lift, we were greeted nicely by one of four (??) front of house waitresses who showed us to a seat immediately, this part was good. However, then she simply went back to the desk and left us to wait and wonder what was happening, i.e. were we supposed to go up to the bar to order, or wait for someone to come and take our drink order?

The four girls were simply standing there looking pretty with their walkie talkies and earpieces, while there were plenty of customers sitting down waiting for someone to explain what the heck was going on. After waving a few times we finally got one of the girls attention, and she informed us we would be served by a waiter soon. After 10 minutes the one overworked, stressed-looking waiter came and took our drinks order and eventually brought it to us.

It annoyed both of us that there were four front of house girls just standing there talking idly and not paying attention to anyone but customers coming out of the lift, while it was clearly busy! The cocktail lounge itself where we were sitting (at front) has no ambience whatsoever, and the artificial plastic green matting on the floor makes you feel like you’re sitting on a minigolf course.

Drinks were average, my bourbon and coke was fine, however, the girlfriend’s Frangelico on the rocks had far too much lime in it which overwhelmed the taste and spoiled the drink. The one positive thing I would say is the actual restaurant (Cafe Sydney) looked stunning, we asked to be shown through that area and will probably go back there. Nice ambience and great views, and the food on customers’ plates looked good.

Worst piece of expensive rib eye steak I have ever eaten. The steak was ordered medium, came out raw. Don't bother ordering the garlic naan bread. It won't show up. Lounge chairs were appallingly low!

Had drinks here before dinner, the staff were lovely, drinks were great, the only bad thing would have to be the chairs, they were definitely not designed with females in mind. They are low to the ground so when wearing heels and a dress you need to do quite a bit of shuffling around so that nobody sees too much, and you will probably need a hand to get up again!
