Lovely good Italian food but a little overpriced. Pickled beetroot salad had about 1 beetroot, Prosciutto and figs should have said fig. Prosciutto was excellent though and why do a lot of good cafes serve such poor coffee when so much good coffee around. Tiramisu could have had more punch and flavour. Friendly service is a bit vague.

More than just your average pizza and pasta, they do authentic Italian food that is so moreish and tasty, we will definitely be going back. We loved the crisp polenta with gorgonzola cheese sauce.

We ate here before watching a show at the Sydney dance theatre. The food comes out quickly as it is geared for the quick meal before the show starts. We ordered fish cakes and Osso bucco. Whilst both dishes in essence were really nice they were both overly salty.

Menu is on a chalk Board so you have to go in and look at it and then order at the counter. Overall a nice experience but I would be a little hesitant to go back as I can't help wondering if all their dishes are overly salted.

Authentic Italian eating experience. Emphasis on the food above all else. The scallops with lemon, chilli and parsley were great. Some may find the dish a bit salty but it suited me. I don't visit the city often, but Cafe Sopra will be part of my visit when I do.

We usually dine at the Cafe Sopra Waterloo but thought we'd give Walsh Bay a try. The menu appears to be the same as Waterloo and the food is divine! The polenta is my absolute favourite and I was extremely happy with the whole trout. I have to say that the service was quite poor as our waitress was very impatient and seemed to be having a bad day. Would definately go back for the fabulous food.

I am so angry after eating at this restaurant that I can't sleep. We waited literally hours to be seated after being told the wait would be half an hour. Before we got a table, we were told the kitchen was about to close. And the bill wasn't cheap, this is cafe food (nice enough, but is it value for money when you are paying $20+ for a plate of pasta?) and service on a fine dining budget.

This iteration of Cafe Sopra has cemented a place on my regular go to list for lunch and dinner. The food is as good as the service (as in great and friendly). The meatballs and ragu are favourites and an interstate friend is now addicted to the Eton Mess.

I also love the fact its a pleasant walk along the foreshore from my office to work up an appetite.

Came here on a saturday for lunch at 11 am, as I wanted to be sure to snag a table and hopefully avoid the need to wait for more than half an hour. We waited probably for 10 minutes, so was glad we came in that early. There are no menus apart from the large chalkboard that you most likely would need to walk up to to decide what you wanted.

Service is brisk but polite, I really did enjoy the place and all the dishes we tried were great. With a main each, a dessert to share between 3, and coffees expect to pay about $30 pp. I had the pasta lamb ragu which is one of the best I've had, lamb was melt in your mouth and the sauce had that consistency that looked like it'd been cooked for hours. The arancini was probably my least favorite, but still is a great snack to share.

The winner for me would have to be the spaghetti meatballs, which were large and moreish. Definitely have to come back to try what else they have on offer.

I was taken here on my birthday.

I really like this place, one of my favourite cafes. The menu selection, fresh produce and flavours are to die for. I'm on a mission to try everything on the menu. It's always refreshing to find a place that uses fresh produce and makes more vegetarian friendly dishes. I've tasted around 7 dishes so far and they've all been superb, especially at such decent prices.

I like the location, the relaxed atmosphere away from the busy work district crowds and the fact it opens till late and serves hot and cold beverages. I haven't bought anything from the fresh food store yet but judging from the cafe food, I'm sure I wouldn't be disappointed with the quality.

The staff are very friendly. The only downside is the fact that they don't take bookings and there may be a long wait for a table, especially when they have a show on at the Sydney Dance Theatre. There's limited seating and the tables are very close together. It is very noisy.

I had one of the tastiest "real" carbonaras here. This pasta was cooked to perfection, had the crispiest bacon pieces and a tasty parmesan sauce. Then it was topped with fresh parsley. Not a drop of cream in sight. Why there is no doubt the food is great, the wait was long. Is it worth the wait? Probably not. But it definitely is worth making a special trip and making sure you get in early!
