Good food. Friendly owner. If you want fancy and pricey go next door. Not the best food in Sydney but great for where you are and view makes it.

Best cafe in Bronte. The owner is a fabulous guy that captures the ambience of the 70's winebar atmosphere. I love the fact that the staff are from varying international backgrounds. Who cares if their English is not great. A good percentage of Australian wait staff can't speak the Queen's english anyway! Great location, reasonable food, reasonable prices, dedicated clientele.

I've only been to Cafe Q for dinner so I am only commenting on that. I'd suggest that some of the other reviewers were, perhaps, seeking something a little more upmarket. Cafe Q definitely isn't that, but it doesn't pitch itself to be either. If you have expectations of a casual little neighbourhood bistro which delivers good honest food at reasonable prices then you'll be fine.

It's the sort of place you can turn up in boardies and thongs with sand still on your feet from your evening swim and notice that the staff are probably the same. Yes, it can be a bit like "Faulty Towers", but in my experience the staff always have been friendly and helpful, and the meals tasty and good value given their size.
If you want something a finer, then go somewhere else.

Loved the location and the décor of the café. The menu sounded so interesting we couldn’t resist. But we had to call the waitress after 5 minutes we were sitting down ignored by everybody and the food was nothing special. I had the italian salad which was nice but lacked of taste. My partner had the lamb cous cous and the sauce was slightly burnt.

My food arrived a good 10 minutes before his which was quite annoying, considering I saw tables arrived after us receiving their food before him. Overall, the location is fantastic and the environment very nice, but what a bad service!

The cool mismatched furniture gets me in the door, but the service was so bad. 2 waiters didn't speak good english and neither of the meals that came out, were not what we ordered. So the quick breakfast before work we wanted, became long while we waited for the correct meals to come.

I love this place, food and the owner really cares about us, his customers. My partner took me here on our first date last year and it is one of our favourites. We always feel welcome, even with children. The special board doesn't change, but it doesn't have to, because there is enough variety and it all tastes amazing. The ocean view really tops it off. I don't even mind that the bus pulls up out front, because I like to see if there is anyone I know disembarking. I alway recommend Cafe Q.

Had breakfast there last week. Extremely average food and very bad service, and dirty. Could not bring myself to use their toilet. I could not work out why they were busy. Locals in Bronte must be clueless.

I've eaten breakfast here twice now, both times we've been a little disappointed. The coffee here is really bad, the service a bit familiar and regardless of price and portion size, it's pretty pedestrian overall.

Despite these complaints the prices are very cheap and that buys some goodwill at least. The best feature of this cafe is that when you sit inside on the super comfy and cushioned seats, you get a sensational view over the beach that makes up for a lot of ills !

This is my favourite restaurant in the Eastern Suburbs. Having been a local for 5 years I have been going here for much of the same time and can highly recommend it! Anyone looking for a well positioned restaurant (except for that bustop) with tasty food, friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere should go here. Especially in the evening. Having come to know the owner, we feel welcome and are never dissapointed. The risotto remains my favourite but other dishes are well done as well.

I agree that there is no Sydney arrogance at Cafe Q, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. However the menu is very basic and brief - I have been here a few times over 8 months (my boyfriend loves it) and both the menu and the 'specials' board haven't changed!

The food is great but a little variety is needed.
