Food service and value exceeded our expectations by a considerable margin. Be sure to book as we dined on a Tuesday night and there was barely a spare seat. Cafe Lyon is an outstanding casual dining, bistro style dining just how I like it. Highly recommended.

Another wonderful evening. The food is always superb and the ambience in the downstairs dining room was enjoyable. It was great to see chef Rainer working the pass and also attending to diners.

Having booked with Dimmi and received confirmation we fronted up at the restaurant at the appointed time only to be told by the restaurant that there was no booking.

The place was packed to the rafter and we feared for the worst and were almost prepared to settle for less in the pizza eatery or something ,when then they managed to find us a table on the first floor.

It was highly commendable that they do care and by this good deed they have gained a long term customer. We all had the three courses meal and it was absolutely delicious. The quality and quantity of every dish put a lot of the so call fine dining restaurants to shame.

Will we come back ? Not only we will come back but we will also bring all my dining friend along to enjoy the gorgeous food served by very professional waiting staff. Once again, we had a great meal and enjoyed every moment of it.

Came with five of my friends, having heard good things. The food was beautiful, my sirloin was perfectly cooked. The raspberry souffle was to die for! The chef made an appearance and seemed to have a lovely relationship with his regulars. Staff were very polite and highly attentive, despite being very busy. We had a young, dark haired waitress who saw to our every need... without getting in the way. Will definitely come back.

I have dined at Cafe Lyon on no less than 12 occasions and I have never been disappointed. The food and service were perfect. On the last occasion, we celebrated a 70th birthday with 27 people and the evening was perfectly executed by this restaurant. I have the greatest praise for the chef and his team who always provided a very high quality product. On this particular occasion, I wish to congratulate them for the beautiful food and excellent service on a very busy night. A very high quality 3 or 2 course meal was available with a slight French twist and it was wonderful. Please try this restaurant. You will not be sorry. Well done to all of you at Cafe Lyon.

Three of us ate here for the first time today. The food was fabulous. This place is much better than a suburban bistro. Wine can be ordered as a glass, bottle or two other options. We were able to order two 500ml carafes of lovely wines so three of us could have a glass of a beautiful French Chablis and a NZ pinot noir.

On top of that the Chef, who was also doing front of house, heard me say that if we could have fitted in a dessert I would have ordered the mango souffle with passionfruit ice cream. Next thing the waiter was setting cutlery for dessert as the Chef was sending us a 'little thing' to taste for dessert. The mango souffle appeared! If anyone is familiar with the key scene from When Harry Met Sally they would recognise our response to the first mouthful. Cafe Lyone deserves to be a stayer, the kind of place we go to again and again.

Superbly cooked and presented food, enjoyed thoroughly by family of 5. Special occasion or not, you will enjoy the marriage of delightfully-blended sauces complementing the main course dish of your choice. Wonderful desserts, good coffee. Service attentive on a packed Saturday night. No wonder it is full of patrons. Go and enjoy yourselves.

This has to be the best "undiscovered" gem on the North Shore! We just had a birthday dinner there and the food was excellent! The souffle dessert was to die for! The service was attentive without being intrusive and the chef bringing the dishes to the table himself was a great added touch!

We brought our own wine (Tuesdays to Thursdays only) but their wine list looked very potable! Please give this local restaurant your well-deserved patronage!

Had the best time at a recent degustation/wine event at Cafe Lyon. It was a very professionally run evening, the food (5 course bistro fare, somehwhat French, somewhat hearty Aussie meal) was absolutely delicious and perfectly matched with the wines. Although not fine dining, really great bistro fare.

The wine maker was on-site for a talk which was also very informative. It was great that it was held upstairs, away from the rest of the restaurant as well, felt like we had our own private dining room. Can't wait to return as a diner on a "usual" night! the food really is Delicious and the place has a great bistro buzz about it.
