Had a lunch after reading glowing reviews. Sorry but just not up to it. A cafe in Leichhardt should at least serve decent coffee! Nothing actually seriously wrong with the food but just not interesting or particularly good. Just food, might as well have cooked one at home. Fortunately, doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

This was a great place to eat, food superb and generous sizes. Great value, service great and staff very friendly and quick to get food on the table. Love this place, prices great and can't wait to go there again and try something else on their extensive menu.

We had originally booked in for eight people although our party turned out to be fourteen! The staff at the jolly cafe could not be more accommodating. Each time a new table needed to be added, they did so with ease and little stress! The cost of the meals was reasonable with mains starting at $22. Our son also had a birthday cake and they again, were most helpful and stored it in their fridge til we were ready and did not charge cakeage which was a bonus!

Went to the Jolly Cafe this morning after trying Big Brekkie two weeks ago. The Jolly Cafe wins hands down! Big Brekkie is over rated as the cooking is obviously poorly monitored and disappointing. It was my third time at the Jolly Cafe and the eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee were as perfect as they were the first two times.

Best breakfast on Norton Street. Very cheap and great value for money! I have had lunch there which wasn't nearly as good as breakfast but the dinner makes up for it. Big servings at a great price. Def worth a visit!

I must agree with the other reviewers and say the prices are excellent here along with the service and ambience. I would say the food is good here especially the pasta dishes. This restaurant is always packed on weekends so is worth booking ahead.

I agree with the other reviewers. The food is not flash, but neither is it expensive and it is good value for money. The atmosphere and service are very pleasant and it's a good place for a cheap and satisfying meal.

Great value, great service and the food (on a quality V price ratio) is just great too. Nothing flash re presentation or ambience, but, if you're hungry and want good food at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go.

I feel that I must rescore the service. I have eaten at Jollys tens of times. However last night we ordered starters and mains. Half way through our starter, the waitress delivered our main meals... This was not acceptable as the tables are very small, and our food was cooling. I know you are a busy restaurant, but please do not become complaicent with your service, as your food is brilliant.

This is by far the best italian restaurant in Leichhardt! I have to say that I base this on a taste vs price ratio. I love the spaghetti gamberoni! So full of flavour and lots of prawns (7 large tail on, mmmm!), and heaps of tasty bacon! $1 per person corkage is a bonus too!
