This is a top class little eatery. The food was fabulous and the service terrific. Our party had: salmon, schnitzel and goulash - all great, followed by a pancake: spectacular.

Well, we had heard this cafe was good, but what a disappointment! Very ordinary food and way, way overpriced for what you get, Small servings, with cheap mash and cabbage. Duck was overcooked and very dry. For authentic Hungarian food, with very generous serves, we will return to our old favourite at Randwick, Corner 75.

I'm not overly wild about this place. The food is good, no question, but the prices are high and, while I've been there three times now as it's in the area, I'm yet to see any of the waitstaff smile. That said, my mother loves it. If you're deeply passionate about traditional European style cooking, preferably aren't a vegetarian, and are prepared to spend a bit, there's a good chance you'll like it. Otherwise, I'd shop around.

Good home-cooking style of diner. On a midweek evening recently, four of us indulged in some well prepared foods such as goulash, veal knuckle and schnitzels. The highlight of the evening apart from the lemon/sugar crepe I had is the obliging service we received from an elderly couple. The ambience is loud and busy while the cost is certainly on the high side.

My family has been to "Gundel" a few times already and have enjoyed it every time. The service is friendly and quick. The food is wonderful every time. The meals are authentically European and are very tasty. The desserts are to die for, especially the apple strudel. The complimentary bread brought out as a starter are a nice touch. Thanks for always making our dining experience an excellent one. We'll definitely be back soon.
