Cafe Bondi used to be very popular with the food, but not any more. The food do not look fresh. I had a coffee on march21st 2011 on monday night. The coffee was beautiful, the barista on monday night was great and had a passion for the coffee. The way he makes the coffee was awesome.

Wonderful steaks and Ribs, Greek Salad was lovely and fresh too. Service was not slow, and the staff were friendly. The cafe is child friendly, however, sadly there are people who do occasionally take their children to cafes and do not control them, this of course is not the restaurants fault. I would return again.

I had a horrible experience at Cafe Bondi today. Firstly it took about 30 minutes for our order to be taken, then the food came out at least another 30 minutes later. When the food came out both of our orders were wrong and I was told to remove the poached eggs from my plate and they would bring out a side dish with the scrambled eggs. The poached eggs sat on our table the entire time we were there.

The food was not the best when I was eating it and due to the slow service we had to rush in the end because we were going to go over our 2 hour parking limit. The food got worse when I got home and I fell ill and eventually started throwing up. I have never had such a horrible experience at a cafe!

Service was incredibly good. Came here for breakfast last sunday and was pleasantly surprised how good eveything was. Everyone was so polite, I thought I was in another country for a minute. It was great. Great coffees to, not sure if it was the barista or the beans, but damn good coffee.

Very disappointing, I have been going to this cafe regularly for seven years and remember when you used to be a bright, energetic place where you were able to chat with the staff (who actually seemed happy to work there). But the food and service has been getting progressively worse in the last 12 months. The last straw was the stone cold slab of bread and butter pudding with the canned cream (How I wish it had never been invented).

Decor is bland and the staff are unwelcoming and disappear regularly. Mysteriously the prices seem to be rising. Cafe Bondi needs to return to its heyday as a friendly neighborhood cafe and stop with the attitude and pretentiousness. Haven't yet found a replacement in the Hall street area yet though so I'm hoping to be won back.

Cafe food need not be this bad. I'm sure this place is good when they get it right, but Stale Burger bun- burger missing cheese and onion, after 30 minutes. No seasoning on or in pattie. Soggy floppy shoestring fries. Basics. How very embarrass when Ronald kicks your butt.

The service was friendly and attentive here but the main courses seemed to take a while to come out even though it was early, about 7 pm on a Sat night and there were only 1/2 a dozen people in the cafe.

The mezze plate of mixed dips with Lebanese bread was nothing stand out. The fish and chips was a good size and the beer-battered fish was tasty. The blackboard special of risotto with king prawns and goat cheese was a decent size. I ordered the blackboard special of fettucine marinara which was disappointing - 3 king prawns, 3 mussels and then tiny mussels (about the size of a little finger-nail)scattered through-out.

We only decided to eat here because of the 25% Entertainment Book voucher. The food was ok but I'm sure there are other places in Bondi Beach that have better food.

We had lunch at Cafe Bondi on Sunday 8th Nov 09 with our two boys and were immediately impressed by the friendly greeting (one from the heart not just the lip service). The food was fantastic, the service friendly and efficient from each of the staff (never had service like this in Australia for such a long time.... ). We highly recommend Cafe Bondi on O'Brien St and shall return. PS Other important things to note: tables were served and cleared immediately and the toilets were clean.

Have been to cafe Bondi many times over the years and never get sick of the food as the menu is enormous. The staff are always very friendly. Recently went to the new cafe at King Cross. Great venue with really nice staff.

My experience at Cafe Bondi kings cross was nothing short of positive! Great music in the background, candlelit lighting, warm balmy night air as we sat below secret outdoor heater tucked away from the hustle and bustle that is Kings Cross.

I had the barrumundi special which was cleanly cooked with a portion that was verging on too big for a large eater! My friend enjoyed a brilliant looking burger that he is still craving and my other other friend the infamous chicken salad complete with mouth watering aioli! A nice step away from the typical Sydney scene with a relaxing atmosphere perfect for an after work wind down over a glass of vino. Will be going back, infact maybe tonight!
