When this cafe used to be Bohemia, I had at least 2 very nice breakfast there. But now it has clearly changed hands, and is now called Courtyard Cafe (or something similar).

And the change has not been good. Prices are still OK, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Eg: soggy muffin under the eggs benedict (it needs to be toasted first), overly creamy benedict sauce (more lemon, less mayo?), stale raisin bread (seriously), powdered sugar on the raisin bread (what the?). Will never ever eat here again.

I think the place must have changed ownership as the food and service has really changed. All the breakfast is now half the size of what it was last time I went and the sausages were not continental type. It seem unorganised and rushed.

I’m sorry to say this, but this place has really gone downhill. I have been here many times, but after last Sunday, I will not be going back. It used to be our favourite breakfast/brunch place in Coogee.

GOOD: the waitress was very friendly and the drinks came out promptly. The iced coffee was enjoyable.

BAD: We waited over 45 minutes for a Big Breakfast and Eggs Benedict to arrive. I noticed 3-4 other tables complain about the wait. We were informed by a waiter that they were very busy. That may have been true, but we only had an hour and wouldn't have sat down had we known we would be waiting so long. (Service used to be prompt here.)

EVIL: the Big Breakfast - I was given a sausage 1/3 the size of a normal one, cut on a diagonal. It had a bit of skin hanging off it, the end was shrivelled and overall looked quite pathetic. There were 2 pieces of bacon. Both were covered in dirt and grease. You couldn’t mistaken the dirt for being well cooked/burnt as it was covering both sides of the bacon evenly. The bacon was cold to mildly warm. I’m not sure they’d been cooked properly, let alone starting to crisp up. After several attempts of telling the staff (I couldn’t get their attention), I tried to wipe the bacon with a serviette. It didn't work very well. Can you believe I had to resort to this in a café? I just couldn’t bring myself to eat it.

The guy at the register did offer tokenly to get another order for me when we went up to pay, but was I going to wait another 45 minutes? No. There was no explanation about the bacon, and no apology for the poor service and food. We paid full price. Never going there again.

Have eaten there a number of times now and can recommend it for traditional style cuisine! I also have roots to Europe and this reminds me of being back there!

I was attracted to this cafe as it is set back off the pavement. The service was poor. I found the waitress to be rude, and patronizing. The other staff were switched off and not willing to hear me out, ignoring me. I was told she is the sister of the owner so it didn't matter how their customer service is. The waitress was then very rude to my mother when she was paying our bill. The food was greasy and disappointing.

I often visit this great cafe for their Salmon Eggs Benedict. Probably the best Benedict in Sydney. The service maybe a little average at times, as their wait staff change often, but the food is great. And most importantly, it's one of a few cafe's in Coogee where you don't have to sit on the pavement right next to cars and buses going by. What a gem! And I own two cafes in Sydney, so I have an idea of the industry, this place is great. Keep up the good work guys!

We were there on Sunday, the food and service were very average. One of our group found two hairs in her omelette, another was served a cold breakfast. The waiter was probably hungover and asked my partner if he wanted milk in his latte. I definitely won't be going back, not impressed at all. They also forgot to bring water when we asked for it.

The day I visitied this little cafe was a freezing cold winter day, the cafe provided everyone with Blankets and smiles which was wonderful. The tea was amazing, the food was a little cold when it arrived but that was probably due to the temperature outside. I would recommend this cafe for a relaxing Sunday feast. Eggs benedict were very tasty!

We had breakfast at Cafe Bohemia a couple of times now. Our first try was a traditional Czech dish which we found a little rich for our tastes. The second time we had a more traditional breakfast with poached egg, salmon on toast. It was divine. We would highly recommend this place with lovely service and great food.
