Fantastic chicken sandwich made with quality bread (the bread is so important!). Service was professional but unpretentious, as it should be. They could probably invest in some new tables though, ours was rocky!
Certainly one of Newtown's better cafes, although depressingly far away Eastern Avenue! The main room is a little sparse, but still a fairly nice atmosphere. The service was swift and friendly, and the food was very nice and good value. With perfect company, this certainly was a great lunch.
Returned twice since our first visit, not so good on both occasions. Food was dismal both times, steak was leathery and dry and salad was limp. Food served up with little care for presentation. Not sure what has happened but its not good. Service was still great. Gelato is still excellent, skip the meals.
What a surprise! We have walked past this place sooo many times and never been in, decided to give it a go for a late dinner. Service was great, it actually feels like the staff enjoys their jobs! The space is really airy and comfy and there is plenty of room between tables. There is a huge table for groups and a fab lounge area up the back.
Food is fantastic value, the flavours are clean and it is beautifully presented. Desserts look divine, we were well behaved and shared gelato, OMG, the fig and the vanilla bean are a must. Great place to just chill out. Coffee was A+
I love it here, really nice meals, very cozy atmosphere, the staff are quite friendly and helpful but the food really must depend on who is cooking, sometimes it’s amazing other times it’s not so great. The last time we ate, everything seemed to have this odd sweet taste despite all ordering really different meals. I stick to their lunch food like the antipasto platter and sandwiches and I’m happy though.
On the basis of the reviews on Eatability a friend and I had dinner here. We were both tired and just felt like chilling out, and Buzzzbar was quiet and intimate - the ambience we were looking for.
The food was really good. I recommend the dips, and the desserts were great as noted in other reviews and large servings. I can recommend the Kahlua chocolate tart. The service was friendly and attentive. The only downside is they don't have credit card facilities - cash only. I will be going back again.
Sorry, but the name is dreadful! However, we've had breakfast at this Newtown nook several times lately and it is well worth ignoring the potentially off-putting nomenclature and heading on through the front seating section to the almost serene oasis in the increasingly dismal surrounding gentrification.
Coffee is always great, service is attentive, friendly and swift - but just the right amount of all of them... Not too obtrusive or pushy. Pretty much always order the mushroom, avocado and cherry tomatoes on sourdough and for $8.00 there is probably not a better value and tasting breakfast in the neighbourhood.
We LOVE this place. Love love love it. Service is always outstanding, everything we have eaten has been delicious, house wine is good and the atmosphere is wonderful. Probably our favourite place in Newtown and actually Sydney. Please never close!
All perfect. What more can I say? The cakes are made by the Greek owner and are delicious. We also had the dips which were also delicious. Sat in the rear courtyard for ages and so comfortable just didn't want to leave. Extremely friendly owners. Will go back again and again and........ Whoever said there isn't enough of the menu is v hard to please. There are heaps.
Fantastic friendly service. The rear courtryard area provided a perfect venue for a quiet, relaxed dinner. It was a nice touch to be asked how I preferred salmon cooked. Medium-rare was perfect. The highlight of the meal was definitely the cakes on offer - all made in house and these are AMAZING. Definitely save room for dessert. A really enjoyable dining experience.
