Nice place for a drink, but seriously don't bother eating here. I admit I probably made a mistake in ordering chicken laksa from a mostly seafood menu, but I was nonetheless surprised to find not vermicelli or egg noodles in my soup, but what appeared to be Heinz tinned spaghetti. Along with the telltale tomato taste, it was pretty laughable, or would have been if I wasn't so hungry afterwards. If I had the option, I'd like to rate the food here as 1 (awful).
Went for a nice Saturday night dinner - not impressed at all. Food was terrible - Oysters kilpatrick tasted like they had been sitting around and the bacon was charred and black. For mains 3 of us had salt and pepper squid, way too much salt and pepper and was also burn't to a crisp - so disgusting that none of us could finish, left us all needing to drink plenty of water due to the salt content. Another member had the $25 steak - nowhere near what you would expect for that money.
The bar itself is very impressive looking but the staff are another matter. The bar staff behind the bar would have to be some of the coldest in Sydney. Not to mention the bouncers - one took a half drunken drink of a rowdy patron and plopped it in the middle of our table while we were in the middle of eating.
The only positive I can give is that when the waitress spilled a glass of my white wine over the table, they quickly brought us another one (but only after asking if the tipped over glass was full!). All in all a place to avoid unless you're up for a quick drink with a view.
Got in about 12 pm for lunch> most tables were reserved that looked at the water. We got a table around the corner, facing the concrete driveway, we were in the sun though, so that was nice. Drinks were overpriced. I got a ceasar salad, presentation looked great, but not practical (everything was separated, massive lettuce leaves nothing chopped up, kind of hard to eat...).
My friend had haloumi salad, haloumi was cold and hardly cooked. Wine was nice, but v exxy. Comments below are correct re: service. I stood at the bar (with 4 or 5 staff standing behind) and waited to be served for ages, they just took no notice, there was No One else standing at the bar. I wouldn't rush back here.
The service here is practically non-existent given that you have to place food orders at the bar, I think that really takes away from the place. The food is good though nothing spectacular.
Six of us went there for lunch, not one person enjoyed their meal. The meals were very small portions, which would have been ok if it was of good quality. Three people could not even finish their meal. I wrote to their website advising that we were all disappointed, was providing constructive feedback, and still 8 days later have not even received a response from them. Not one of us would ever return.
Great location and great set out. The food is nice but the portions are smallish for price. First time I've finished a dish completely in a long time. The service is okay although I wouldn't call it service really as once they seat you, it's pretty much every man for himself to order drinks and food at the bar. Haven't been here at night. I'm sure it's great. Nice on a sunny day.
We had a work gathering, approximately 14 of us. We had a lot of fun. The atmosphere was great. The location was awesome. It was a rainy day but we still had heaps of fun. We sat outdoor but didn't get wet (undercover) so all good. The food came about 10 minutes after we ordered which was a Wow for us. Drinks, well its the same everywhere right! Good was good. Pricey but what do you expect for Kings St Wharf so overall, we had fun and it was worth it.
Don't recommend for casual dining. More like a work gathering or dining out but if you have $$ to spare and don't mind spending abit, check this place out. 14 of us spent $700 all up so not bad considering we all ate and we all walked out drunk!
