Have eaten at Budda Beach half a dozen times and have always been happy with the food, fresh, good portion sizes.

Customer Service levels from the wait staff varies sometimes, but haven't had a bad experience.

I visited Buddha Beach Bar at 5.30pm on Friday the 7th of January 2012. I booked in advance to ensure we would get a table for three of us. As we walked in, the restaurant was empty, so maybe 40 tables free. The girl asked for my name 4 times, and then finally understood me. About half of the chairs had high backs, about half were stools.

I was there with my 87 year old grandmother, and so asked for a table with highback chairs. We were not allowed to have one of those as other people had booked. I explained I had booked too, but she would not listen. So I had to just about walk out before they offered to take one highback chair from one of the 20 empty tables with highback chairs. She could clearly see I was with my elderly Gran, and I also told her this. She then angrily took us a table jammed up against the back where the other 3 groups were all jammed in too.

Obviously to make it less walking for her despite there was an empty restaurant. They did not assist with food selection when asked, they did not bring knives and forks without been asked twice, and did not actually speak to us through out the meal. They just came and took things and brought things and at one stage reached over my Gran whilst she was eating to take the plate.

There were excess staff, there probably 6 people. I thought the service was terrible, for $30+ mains, you would expect a lot more. I would fire all front of house service staff that were working on the 7/1/12 after 5.30pm, the kitchen staff did a good job, the food was still very good but I definitely will not be going back there.

Ok in terms of Thai, looked clean and neat, food just was not that impressive. Had better.

Worst service. Had to call them over 30 minutes after our table had arrived on a quiet sunday night so we could order drinks and food. Entrees were not cleared before mains delivered.

Previously I have eaten the food here and enjoyed it but there was so much chilli in my food I barely vomited but no wait staff approached our table at all to ask how we were going or to refill water. Then when finally collecting our mains, the waiter dropped a glass on our table and didn't come back to sweep up the fragments of glass left there, dangerous! I'm glad there were no kids on our table! Had to get up and ask waiters for the bill 45 minutes after they half cleared our table. Over priced and really poor service!

Food was good but not any better than the other dozen or so Thai restaurants in Cronulla. Most disappointing aspect was how noisy this place was. There was a large party of 18-19 year olds talking over each other (as happens when your obviously had too much to drink) shouting, clapping and to top it off they were playing sculling games. Not a bad effort for 9pm! Understand that people are there to talk and have a good time but the line had definitely been crossed and this was allowed to continue while being unchecked by management. You should be be able to talk and hear each other from one side of the table to another. Will not be going back for this reason. Royal Orchid Thai just around the corner is a lot better all round and better still you will be able to have a conversation without feeling the need to shout.

I went here for my mothers birthday last weekend, expecting a good night as we weren't from the area, only to be given one of my worst served dinners of my life! I Never would go to the trouble to write a review but I was so outraged that I thought I would personally come on here to warn people! everything that went wrong with that night did and all I wanted was to get out of there. It took them aagggeess to take our entree orders, then we had to try and get their attention from outside to order drinks. We had to ask 3 different waitresses to bring out the drinks.

When they finally did they didn't bring enough glasses then had to wait, get their attention and ask again. Entrees arrived small serving and we still had no cutlery! how are you supposed to eat at a nice place with no forks! eventually they came with the mains. Being a fairly large group the plates kept piling up so high that we couldn't even see each other or what we were eating.

The mains didn't come with spoons to serve so we had to again wait and ask for that as well before we could start. They had forgotten my boyfriends meal completely as well as continuously disturbing us with mistake meals/drinks for other tables. When it was cake time they brought it out but forgot the knife.

They were very disorganised and no one seemed to know what they were doing or where they were going. It was such a shame because the place looked great and such a nice location. I felt sorry for the waitress as they were coping the brunt, exremely busy on a sat night Very under staffed. I would never go there again and I wouldn't even wish that service on my worst enemy.

Food is good when it finally arrives. 35 mins between entree's and mains is beyond a joke when there are 4 other tables full in the restaurant. Then bringing the second of 2 mains ordered 25 minutes after my partner had eaten his main. Also bringing rice when 20 min into a main meal is also a joke. The wait staff also are not helpful. When we told them of our delay in meals, they laughed and said oh so sorry and walked off. I would never pay to eat here or recommend it to anyone else.

Good Thai food and good service. Not the best place for a quiet night but it is one of the better Thai restaurants around.

I went here with a vegetarian friend so we ordered only vegetarian food and were quite dismayed to find chicken in one of the dishes. They apologised but did nothing to remedy the situation. We ordered spring rolls which came out after our main meal then they seemed to forget about our other order. I really enjoyed the spring rolls and the curry with the chicken, it was just a pity my friend could not eat any more of it. We sat outside and service was a bit slow, probably best to sit inside.
