A friend organised a small get together at this joint last Friday evening. The only saving grace for the evening was that we had each other's company because the bar was horrible.
A few of us decided to order cocktails off the menu and it took the bar staff on average 5 mins to make each drink, and they weren't even multitasking! It was as if they were making the cocktails for the very first time in their lives because they were consulting the menu extensively to figure out what ingredients should go into the drinks. One of the staff even thought it necessary to sniff the content of a bottle to see whether the content was still drinkable. Maybe it's just me, but I'm turned off by the fact that there was a chance that the particular liquid might have been off...
We ordered 5 pizzas and it took 45 mins for them to arrive. The delay may have been excusable if the place was busy - it was not. We were the only patrons there! Having said that, the pizzas were quite tasty.
I only recommend this place if you're a patient person who likes to wait around for your food and drink.
A group of friends and I went there last night and the service was appalling. We walked in and were completely ignored by one staff member who preceded to walk around the rest of the time doing nothing!
There were about ten staff in the bar/restaurant and the place was not busy (surprisingly!). We had to constantly ask for assistance and the food took at least half an hour to get to us. When we did get some table service the staff was rude and obviously so over it.
We then wanted to get some coffee and tea, and had to walk to the bar to order it because the staff didn't want to know and were too busy chatting. They then wouldn't let us put it on the bill - we had to pay separately for it!!
Shocking service, not the best food and not a good experience at all. For a place which is in the best location in Sydney, which would get a lot of tourists, I am embarrassed for Sydney. Do not go there, you will be disappointed.
Went there for dinner for mum's 70th before a show at the opera house. I knew the food wouldn't be spectacular as mains were around $25 and with a location like that they could charge a fortune for good food.
Mum ordered the crispy salmon on mash - salmon was over cooked which was disappointing as such a simple dish should be easy to get right. I ordered gnocchi with a rustic ragout. A simple dish which really just tasted like they'd through any vegetables at hand through a tin of tomatos. Wouldn't have been too bad if they hadn't used the stringy hard end bit of the asparagus. We dined with 2 others and the bill for 4 mains and a bottle of wine came to around $130.
We had a baby with us when we went to the bathroom we were politely told we couldn't bring her through the bar - not sure if there is another bathroom or route to the bathroom but you may want to check before taking kids. Not spectacular food or service, but convenient to the opera house and great view.
Arrived for a drink before attending the theatre and what a find! the service was excellent and drinks made to perfection. Very friendly bartender called Kim. A must!
After making a booking a month in advance for our wedding guests to come to after our wedding on Saturday 7th April my husband was refused entry from being "disrespectful" which he was not. We were treated terribly. We and our guests will NEVER return. A very poor ending to what should have been the best day of our lives. DON'T GO THERE!!!
