I've been there a couple of times and the menu is pretty limited. Not much to rave about.

I've given this place 3 goes for breakfast and I'm done. Food's actually not bad so its unfortunate that they can't seem to run themselves properly. Each time it took forever to get someone's attention and then more time yet to order a coffee and then wait for it Not to come. And then remind them and then take more time to order food, you get the point. I think staffing levels are a problem, if you're going to open for breakky on weekends you need more than one person working the floor.

Really quite good - which is great considering Hornsby and the deep North is a generally bad place for food. Do try it.

Went to dinner on Friday night, I think (not sure) that the chef that does dinner is different to the lunch one, no other word for it food was fantastic, had the salmon with the little corn blinis which has obviously just been cooked, lamb for main, again fantastic, food was so good went for desert as well which was also great, staff very attentive. Not the best position but it is so cheap $12 an entree and $25 main $9 for desert, that is cheaper than my local pub, could not understand why it was so empty, I believe there is a new menu coming up, look forward to trying that.

I had lunch here with a friend on a Monday a few weeks ago, and left shaking my head. We don't go out to eat much as we are both broke uni students, so on the odd occasion that we can afford it, it would be nice to have decent food and good service.

The grey-haired man that must own the place could not even so much as smile when he greeted us. We were rushed to order, being approached twice when we were mid conversation, within a few minutes of sitting down.

The food was decent but you can't really say much about a turkey sandwich and some corn fritters anyway. The plates were cleared as soon as we were finished and we were offered coffee. We said no thank you and went on to continue our conversation.

We were asked again by a younger staff member and again we said no thank you. Then our conversation was interrupted a third time, by the owner, who said as he got out his note pad "Guys, I'm going to have to ask again, do you want coffee? Because I have people waiting for tables. You can stay here all day if you like but I mean, really.." I was shocked! We stood up to pay the bill and get out of there but I was upset with myself that I didn't say something about the rudeness!

Never before have I been asked to leave a restaurant, let alone a cafe in Hornsby on a Monday lunchtime, 15 minutes after we had finished eating, when there were free tables out the front of the cafe. Wake up old man, service is key!

Coffee has to be the most expensive in Sydney at $4.30 for a regular coffee (Sydney average is $3.06). Food is overpriced, especially for dinner where I had an entree and a main and had to cross the street to get something else to eat as I was still starving, the meals are tiny and mains are over $25 each (I am happy to pay this if the food is worth it but it clearly isn't).

Senior staff can be quite rude, especially the senior staff and many of the staff almost seem to regard the customers with a certain amount of disdain which I don't understand at all given the location and atmosphere. Have avoided this place after many such experiences.

May be a cafe by day, yet the food at night time is of good quality with a vary varied menu. Not the same old food groups offerred, here is thought put into a small and well prepared menu. We sat near the very clean kitchen and watched a highly meticulous chef go about his job well. Superbly cooked and presented with an artists touch. Service was polite and attentive. Certainly worth a visit again.

Had the large breakfast here which was excellent, and included home made baked beans. Decor a little ordinary, very noisy, service was ok.

Foolishly tried giving this place another go after a previously awful experience. Never again, to spend money here is to reward the staff for their obvious contempt of the long suffering public and the serving sizes are definitely not value for money. Food not bad, but not great either, and certainly not worth the long wait, outstandingly rude service and shabby environment.

The quail was served with hollandaise sauce which was not mentioned on the menu, given I could have had an egg allergy and the fact it just didn't compliment the dish, it should have been left off the plate or, perhaps, served with my partners fish, which was quite sparse.

When I mentioned it to the wait staff he just said you can't get it right all the time!
Also another table was served lamb which was not on the menu, so if it was a special we were not informed of this. The desserts more than made up for the entrees. I would return to try them out again to see if our experience was a one off.
