The service has always been on the slow side but I feel you can forgive that if the food is consistently good. Unfortunately, my most recent experience left a lot to be desired. We ordered 2 large coffee's and a Banana smoothie to begin with. Our coffee's took 25 minutes while the smoothie arrived around 5 mins after that. When the coffee arrived it was one small and one large. Not a great start. I ordered the steak sandwich. First bite revealed a big chunk of fat. Once I opened the sandwich it was plain to see it was thrown together with pieces of fat pretty much everywhere. I had a side of chips which weren't bad. I've had food here before and I must admit it was great. They seem to have renovated and changed staff recently. I won't be returning I'm afraid.

Wow. open christmas day and new years, thats dedication to great food. We went new years day and were happy to pay the 10% surcharge which they only apply on the above 2 days. There was a huge (15 people) line when we arrived and we thought we wouldn't be able to get a table for a while, to our surprise most were waiting for take away coffee. We waited about 3 or 4 minutes out the front, in the sun which was nice, anyway, and were then taken to a table they made up for us.

Wasn't expecting great service as it is a little bit grungy and hippy looking (these places generally do the best coffee and food but fall short on service), but we were very surprised they were great and you didn't need a tattoo sleeve and tight shorts to get a smile like you do on brunswick street in melbourne, which the cafe reminded us of.

Anyway, to the food. Great food, my mrs had boiled eggs and ricotta, while I had eggs benedict and a hash brown. What a treat the food was! highly recommend this place to anyone and hope it helps, coffee was great too by the way, you'll expect that when you see the place!
