Found this place in the entertainment book and what a discovery it was! Went there last night, great food and the service is excellent. We arrived 10 minutes early and as our table wasn't ready were treated to a complimentary glass of bubbly with some mixed olives while we waited. You just don't get service like that anymore and we were looked after the entire meal.
The wine is a little expensive but it's worth the extra expense just for the meal and the service. We were made to feel important (which is how it should be)and we could not fault the food. We will definitely go back and I'll be recommending this place to my friends.

Top marks for this place, service was excellent, food was of a very good standard, and good portions too. Lovely ambience.
We had calamari, zucchini flowers and then warm pork salad and gnocchi, with sticky date pudding for dessert. All the food was of a good standard, if not mindblowing it was tasty and well created with good touches and nice ingredients.

First rate service, friendly but not intrusive. All our dishes were well prepared and presented. Interesting wine list, with several Spanish reds. And a nice vibe - we'll be back.

Went there last night for Valentine's Day and had a lovely time. The service was fantastic. Very friendly and efficient. Definitely made the night even more enjoyable! The food was very nice as well. Had a lovely asparagus with poached quail eggs. The portion was a bit small, but very tasty. The eye fillet was cooked to perfection and the dessert was divine! Highly recommend it for a nice dinner out on a special occasion!

This restaurant is set in a quiet part of busy Booth Street. We decided to stop for lunch as it was my birthday and there was a lunch special. The restaurant is quite attractive, with a raised floor level on one side, so the interior is not dead flat. Very clean and neat.
The service was a little pretentious, and because my partner suggested we share this, there appeared to be a problem in that we were told the cook/owner would not allow it. All we meant was that we would have one special and maybe another dish from the menu.
All in all, the quality of the food was very good, but the fish serving was rather small, and too salty and on a bed of lentils, not very satisfying. The cuisine was Modern Australian. The duck was excellent, but there was not much else with it. Some tiny pea size offerings of pasta, some red cabbage and onion, but very little. No potatoes, salad or anything like that. On the other hand, the creme bruleé, though expensive, was excellent.
We left with mixed feelings, but I don’t think we will be coming back.

After driving past so many times, I thought I'd just come here and see what the hype is about.
The highlight of the meal is the entree, done wonderfully with salmon and beetroot sorbet: wow, certainly michelin star standard. I couldn't wait for the mains and then it bombs. Mr man's roast pork was chewy like rubber and the skin was not even crackling crispy. To top it off, there were bits of bone in the meat! The salad was over salted. My lamb was pretty good though. Told the senior staff.
What is the first lesson of customer service? Don't argue with a customer. Told him about the pork and his response is "its supposed to have bone". Told him about the salad with avalanche of salt and he said nothing. We asked him to convey to the chefs how lovely the entrees were, that it was close to michelin star standard, and he didn't even do that! So on the way to the ladies, I stopped by the kitchen and asked who was responsible for the beetroot sorbet and gave him my appreciation.
Then it picked up again. The dessert (vanilla rice pudding) was playful: served in a french jam jar. Before leaving, we told another waiter about the senior staff's lackadaisical attitude and much apologies to be had. We are going back next week and the senior staff apparently has resigned and leaving. Its funny how little things make it bomb.

Caught up with a few friends for a mid-week meal. The service was fantastic and we could not fault it. We each had a different meal, lamb, tuna, pork and steak. Unfortunately, the lamb, pork and steak were all tough a bit chewy. The tuna was lovely except the salad wasn't exactly "nicoise". I would have expected a much higher standard considering the price of the menu.
It also got very noisy as the night progressed and we found it very hard to hear each other over the other tables. With so many restaurants to choose from I doubt we will be visiting this one again.

Great food, however, very slow service for a Saturday night. Will definitely be back! For the ladies, steak main is enough for two.

I've been here on 2 occasions. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. The food is consistently good and the service is solid. The mid week special is quite good value (although the price does creep up with the wine included!) I found the food to be tasty and fresh. When I visited for breakfast I was very impressed. I had a salmon dish and my friend had the field mushroom and both were delicious. The coffee was strong with a good flavour and the price ver reasonable. A very pleasant addition to the Annandale dining scene!
