My wife and I have been eating here for the last 5 or 6 years, almost every time we are in the city (twice a month or so). In that time we have never been disappointed with a meal or a dish!

The sides are always generous (after all, they are sides), and the meal portions are always quite appropriate! I am a reasonably big eater, my wife average, and $55 always sees us leave full, sometimes with leftovers!

The food feels like 'home cooked' highlighted by the (mostly) subtle differences when there are different chefs/cooks working! We find it quite charming, always tasty and almost the antithesis of 'fast food'! We have not yet visited Korea, however, the feel is somewhat like the little family run eateries and foodstalls in the backstreets of South East Asia.

I imagine similar places exist in Korea's cities and regional centres. The ambience is not that of a 3 hat restaurant, but nor do they try to be, and they certainly don't charge as though they are! Again, its clean, comfortable and quite charming.

Finally, great food, good service and excellent value for money. If you're around that end of town, give it a go for lunch or dinner (or both like we have several times!)

The service is mostly great for a small, sometimes very busy, eatery.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, was there a few nights ago with a friend, ordered a fish roe soup paid abt $16 and guess what got only 2 pieces of cooked fish roe in a broth with barely any vegetables, each roe was only about 1 inch long and no more than 3cm wide, brought it to the attention of the lady presumed to be the senior staff and she advised us that the proportion was correct.

It was ridiculous even the marinated beef dish we ordered was very small, when it came to replenishing our side dishes it was just as pathetic the 2 side dishes we asked to be refilled was even smaller than the initial portion brought to our table at the beginning of the meal. I had eaten at this restaurant many times before bat 3yrs ago, it was great then, a far cry from what it is in 2012.

If you want korean food better go to the other restaurants such as Ma Dang, Seoul Ria, Hanabi and a few others, but they are all in close proximity to each other around world square on pitt and liverpool st, goulburn st, and liverpool, elizabeth st. Thats it won't be going back to Boom Bi Na.Ciao, Au Revoir!

I went here once on my own and was impressed to be given six side dishes just for me. The food is tasty and the menu is extensive, with some items I have not seen on other Sydney Korean restaurant menus. Service is friendly, albeit not perfect English. The price is very reasonable.

Your search for perfect Korean grub ends here. Too many people walk past this place and never see it. Boombina is tucked away in Kent Street near the Spanish quarter. It's very unassuming, but this helps to convey the feeling that you're lost in the backstreets of Seoul. The lady in the open kitchen usually nods as you walk through the door, before a waitress shows you to one of the wooden tables lined with wooden chairs (no expense spared).

What sets this place apart is the little side dishes of kimchi and similar assortments. I've rarely tasted such fresh ingredients in other Korean restaurants, and it's little things like this that make the difference. The beef bulgogi is simply divine, as is the marinated pork and spare ribs. I've been here 5 times, including a visit with 8 friends. All of us went home raving about this place, plus our wallets thanked us.

Plates cost an average of $15 and you walk away feeling stuffed. Seriously, give this place a try. I recently heard it's received a new lick of paint, but I hope this doesn't spoil the cosy makeshift atmosphere.
