Excellent little restaurant in Sydney. I love this restaurant, I think it defines, Melbourne culture in Sydney. Excellent Ambience, not too squashy but nice and cosy, great wine list, excellent service, gorgeous staff, delicious food! Bona fides tomato bruschetta and spinach and ricotta stuffed gnocchi to die for. Stunning! Thank you.

What a disappointment. Dropped in for a quick brekky - poached eggs on nothing-special-toast with a little bit of undressed rocket on the side - $12. Toasted banana bread - $7. 2x Capps - $8.40. Almost $30 for a basic basic breakfast. Waitress acted as though she didn't want us there. Coffee was fine but the food was very average - a great disappointment given the (double!) price. Never going back :(

Bona Fides consistently delivers tasty food - especially their cevapi meat rolls and their pasta and risottos. I have been coming here for the past few years because the cafe is so conveniently located, just next to the QVB and contemporary decor inside too.

I go to Bona Fides cafe on Druitt street every day and buy my coffee because they have a good quality coffee. I have a coffee card there which every sixth coffee I get 1 free but the best thing is that once the card is full you get a complimentary meal (any meal from the menu). That is the reason I have given them a 10 for value.
The food it’s great and very well presented. I had the fish last time which was very fresh. The service was excellent considering it was a complimentary meal the waiters still provided the same good service. The ambience is good the only negative is the traffic outside (was bit loud) but the music soften, and was very relaxing. They gained my loyalty.

Went here on a Monday night for a casual dinner. We had some communication problems with the waitress but everything was good. Fresh food, reasonable prices... Why not become a regular.

We went there on a saturday night the manager Stefan gave as a great table next to the window. He explained different types of wines his wine knowledge was exceptional on top of that explained the food menu to finest element. I had the stuffed eggplant and my partner had tomato brushetta. For the mains i had grilled snapper fillet and my partner had a special of the day the black truffle rissoto (24.90 exceptional value). Stefans wine recomadation was brilliant. But what was a ripper was the total of the bill I even took it to friends of my to show them that you can have a great dinner for less than $100. I did not get to try the coffe but read in a other review that the coffe is brilliant.

A group of 8 of us used to be regular customers here until recently as they do a rather good coffee. However the service the last time we went was severely lacking. As it was lunchtime on a freezing winters day there were no tables available inside, so we sat at the tables in the laneway. When a table became available inside we proceeded to move that way only to be told in no uncertain terms by the barista that because we were only ordering coffee, we would have to stay seated outside. Needless to say we have now found a new coffee place that welcomes their customers to sit inside to enjoy their coffee. I would give them a zero for service if I could.

As we are regular attendees at the Genesian Theatre we pop in for dinner quite often prior to the show. Not only are the staff very accommodating knowing that we have a play to see, but I have eaten several different main dishes on the menu and I am yet to have a problem with any of them. I think the grilled fish is one of the best I've tasted and is great value for money. Ideally situated just around the corner from the Theatre as well.

We went there on a Saturday and were hurried out of the restaurant because the restaurant/cafe was closing at 10pm. Decore is quite nice but the tables are tiny. Wait staff were good but we were over charged with the addition of two items we didn't order. A wine list surprise was Vasse Felix and a wine estate I love. Food was off to a great start with entree of salt and pepper calamari and bruschetta that were both yummy, but quickly plumetted with the main. The grilled fish was Flake (which I really like) but was overcooked and served with a massive slab of marinated fennel and deep fried potato which had had the rot cut out of it. A bit too liberal with the sauce bottle too. My partner had the surf and turf which frankly, looked like a mess on the plate. Dessert was 50/50 and obviously bought in with a ricotta cheesecake that was quite nice but the blueberry cheesecake had a gelatinous top that you could bounce a ball off. Truely, even though this wasn't a total disaster it was a cafe with an ordinary cafe standard trying to serve restaurant food and failing. Stick to lunch and you will probably be pleased.
