I've only ever been on a weekday so not sure what the weekend crowd is like. I have to say sitting inside is a lot better than outside. There are slits in the tables outside and the plates keep slanting into the slits. The food is nice and you don't really feel you're missing out on meat. But variety is of course less than normal yum cha.

Love this place. I have been there several times and despite the slightly surly waitstaff (which is a feature of Yum Cha restaurants everywhere anyway!), there is very little I could say is bad about this excellent restaurant. I'm heading off there in a couple of days because it's been a while since I've been there and can't wait to go back!

I have found this place to be fantastic in many ways. The setting is wonderful, the service very friendly, the food just delightful and brilliant to have vegan options.

Great location for yum cha especially on a lazy weekend afternoon. I like to take out-of-towners here. To me it's Sydney - good food, outdoors and laid back.

And agreed about the scary lady. I've seen her death stare towards her wait staff and worry about them.

Oh my God. I could eat here everyday. The older lady that runs it is a bit of a grumpy but the awesome friendly staff and amazing food make up for it. It's just a pity I live so far away.

Well! What a night! From the beginning we should have realised this was not going to be good experience, as they argued in front of us (no clue about what) whilst we are still waiting to sit down. At first we found it amusing that we struggled to place our order with the waiter that is untill he started bringing us all the wrong dishes. Then he wanted to argue that that was what we ordered. The food was mostly bland, Thank God for chilli sauce (which we had to ask for several times). And of course at the end of the night, there was a dispute over the bill as we recieved food we did not order. We won't be going back.

We were in the mood for a nice meal and in a relaxed atmosphere on a Friday night and that is what we got. We loved 3 of the 4 dishes we had while the 4th was okay. Service was great. The waitress was very friendly and was always on the lookout to see if we needed anything else. The alfresco dining with a view of the park can be romantic.

Waiter who served us could barely understand what we were asking "Lemonade??" and then the food was quite average, of course overpriced due to the location. I don't mind spending a bit extra if the food matches up, but felt a bit ripped off in the end. We were expecting non vegetarian food to be served & asked for it to be served, which got a quizzical look, we hadn't known it was a vegetarian place. There isn't an indication that it was just vegetarian.

The food is much lighter and tastier than most vegetarian yum cha I have been to, and not too bad value for money in my opinion. However, my experiences at Bodhi have been marred by a brutal, dictatorial manageress who treats her staff so badly and her customers with such disrespect, that I've felt tense and upset (not very zen!). She even looked like she was going to hit one of the waitresses at one point. Next time I go there, I plan to speak out and tell her, rather than just sitting there stressed.

I love yum cha but have come to expect poor service and communication breakdowns. That being said I find the service at Bodhi average. The new Maitre De on the weekend seemed very helpful and attentive. Given that a vegetarian yum cha is a little restricted in their dishes I find the quality and variety of food acceptable. The setting is most pleasant.

We paid $85 for 4 adults and 2 kids but didn't order a lot of food. It can be a little more expensive than the average yum cha. I go about once every few months and will continue to do so. I recommend it to my friends, but only if they appreciate vegetarian cuisine.
