I have been here on several occasions with friends for lunch and also for coffee and cake in the afternoon. There is a very rude woman who always asks are you eating or just having coffee? If you say coffee then you are not allowed to sit on the verandah! How ridiculous!
The woman is very unwelcoming and made me and my guests feel like 2nd rate customers because we were having coffee and cake at 4pm! I have been back on at least 4-5 other occasions and yet got the same bad service, no smiles and felt very unwelcome. I will not go there again...they've lost me and all my friends.

I went there on a weekday lunch. Only thing going for it is the great location overlooking the water. That's the good part. Foodwise, $22.00 for a barramundi main fish seemed like it had been frozen and refried, no texture and mushy. Fried on 1 side only. Not worth the money at all and ate it because I was in polite company. The side salad on the plate was dried up ie tomato had dry 'white' look to it, greens were wilted. No dressing.
Had obviously been plated up and sitting for hours before the meal was served. Chips were OK. We ordered garlic bread but it never came. One of my colleagues had fried fish and chips, the fish batter was very dark like the oil hadn't been changed for a while, same for the schnitzel someone else ordered, dark and overcooked. But the views were nice. Apparently, when the tide is in, it laps under the outside balcony which is nice.
Service wise, pretty 'how's your mother' the waitress didn't even know what meals were on the plates she brought out when trying to work out who ordered what. Overpriced for the quality of food served. I'm sure the cakes and coffee are good, but that's all I'd try if I went back. The place could be so good, but pity it's run so unprofessionally.

Great location, very poor and abrupt service. Quality acceptable, nothing out of the ordinary. Not recommended except for the location. If only it was run by a professional, modern and customer centred team.

I went here during the week with a group of close friends and we had a great time. The food was delicious and not too costly, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the view was fantasic. Overall a great time had by all and we will be heading back again soon.

The Boatshed is a very enjoyable place to be, particularly in the late afternoon watching the sunset. On our visit, the food was fresh, hot and nicely presented. Service was quick and very friendly. There were not that many people when I was there, but the atmosphere is very laid back and unpretentious. The Boatshed would be as suitable for a romantic dinner as it would a family get together. Just remember to leave room for dessert, the cakes are sensational. The only real improvement I could suggest would be a few more options on the menu in the way of other types of fish and different sauces etc. Highly recommended! Will go again.

If you want a good feed and a good yarn with your friends then check out the Boatshed. Fish of every variety on the menu and it's served up with a friendly vibe. Try dining at sunset, it's hard to beat.

The view you get on a nice sunny day is the best selling point about this place. You may get disappointed with the food though. The seafood tends to be a bit hit and miss. Have had issues with any type of octopus they serve up as it tends to turn out rubbery. The fish is hit and miss, much like the service you get. When they're really busy, expect to be rushed after you put your knife and fork down on the table.

We went to the Boatshed Cafe on a Sunday around lunch time and sat in the deck area. Really very pretty sitting and looking out over the water, watching what was happening in the water. Being able to sit and relax on the balcony with nice water views, great for a sunny summer day. Good for cake and coffee or a main meal.

We went there on a sunday around lunch time and sat in the cafe area. The ladies serving behind the counter should not be working in hospitality - raising their voices. The service was more like a canteen at a football match than a pleasant coffee shop with tea.

Was glorious looking over the sea at the boats whilst having a romantic dinner outside. Food is so fresh and was perfect.
