Went here on a voucher but most of the main meals had an additional charge. A big mistake. The entrees were from the freezer, the thai dressing was sweet chilli sauce, the mushroom sauce was gravox. The warm chocolate pudding was glug. Yuck. The waitress didn't want to be there, in fact I don't think she wanted us to be there either.
Whole experience was awful. You could go to the freezer at woolworths or shire foods and produce the same meal with as long as you had a deep fryer. If you want a huge meal of disappointing food, this is the place to go. We will not be going ever again.

We visited this restaurant with 4 Ouffer vouchers. I made my reservation with John, and when I mentioned to him that we were coming with 4 vouchers, he never gave me any form of discrimation. Our meal was fabulous and we didn't mind paying the extra bit for special meal. Our 3 course was fabulous, except maybe the roast port was a bit dry, but the rest was good. Service was good, everything was explained clearly. We will definitely go back to Blue Parrot, voucher or no voucher.

Value for money 10 out of 10. Very friendly staff. The menu is well put together, good combinations, generous servings, and covers all dietary requirements (vegie/gluten etc). BYO wine available.
Nice local restaurant. Accept the restaurant for what it is and you will be very pleased.

We chose this restaurant on the back of an article written in the St George & Sutherland Shire Leader 1 March, 2012 (Pg.22) The headline read, "Four-course menu delights fine diners." The article was well written & was the reason we decided to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary here. What a big mistake! From the moment we sat down, we were sceptical. The place is untidy with a fly spray can sitting on the bar, glasses had lipstick stains on them and the food was hardly fine dining. The licensee, John Griggs never once asked us if everything was ok or if we enjoyed our meals as he was more interested in being on his mobile phone or sipping coffee.
I'm surprised this "restaurant" (I've had better meals in Soup kitchens) is still in operation. The head chef was meant to be a Nathan Rushton; we had a Indian chap by the name of Ash who has no idea how to make a bruschetta or a paella. The ingredients were not fresh or put together while we waited. Worst "fine dining" experience I have ever had; we won't forget our 15th wedding anniversary in a hurry, but will laugh about it in the future! Just noticed their website says it has been recently refurbished? When? 1994?

Don't go here. I purchased a voucher as I've always wanted to eat here. The waitress mentioned all menu was included with no additional cost, this wasn't the case as we found out at the end. The senior staff was so rude to us asking why we would believe what a 16yr old waitress would say. Go figure. Food was average. Duck overcooked as was steak. Wine wasn't what was on the menu. Senior staff just got from the bottle shop. Certainly not worth it if paying full price. Go somewhere else instead.

5 of us dined here on a Friday night. 4 dinners were with an Ouffer coupon plus we ordered 1 extra dish. Admittedly, the food took a little while to be served but overall, we were very happy with our dinner and the service. The waitress spilled a little bit of beer and not only did she apologise but brought out another beer to compensate for a few drops! We may have paid extra for some of the meals but it was minimal. We chose 2 red wines from what was on offer - one was Italian and the other from the Hunter Valley - both were most enjoyable, as was the whole night. A good time was had by all.

The wife and I used a Spreets Voucher twice in this restaurant. Unfortunately, not a great experience. The voucher had no exclusions but the senior staff had plenty when we got there. Wine was not from the wine list but Grays online cheapies. Virtual every main course they wanted extra money above the voucher price. Despite booking on both occasions there was no table made up for us on arrival. Altogether a completely forgettable experience.

Restaurant is very pleasant, the food was good quality but for goodness sake, the unfriendly waitress, sits out the front smoking and drinking, has put us off going back, she is just so sour! Yet when you get served by the young bubbly waitress, she makes you feel so welcome!

The Blue Parrot is nice, tasty, predictable restaurant. You know what you are getting every time you go there. Good mid week and early bird specials. Will always go back here.

Food was excellent but service was slow, 3 hours later we finally finished our 3 course meal. The 3 course deal for $40 is cheaper than just ordering 2 courses even if you don't eat the dessert but you have to mention you want the special. I would go back just for the food, but make sure you've got plenty of time.
