The food was average at best. Servings were sparse especially when charging $29 for a simple salad. The atmosphere of Darling Harbour saved our lunch from being a complete disaster, but the service was severely lacking. Value for money does not exist at this restaurant and if you pay by credit card, make sure you get your own card back at the end of the meal, they tried repeatedly to give me someone else's card back and only reluctantly apologised for the error.

I went to Blue Fish on Good Friday with my boyfriend, we had a voucher for wine and prawns. I called to make a reservation approximately a week before, and told the person on the phone three times we had a voucher, and he said that is no problem and that I could use on a holiday.

Went to the restaurant on Good Friday, was seated, and proceeded to wait around 15 minutes for someone to come over and help us, to their credit it was extremely busy. After someone finally came over, I told them I had a coupon, and they said they didn’t think I could use it, the waiter checked with the senior staff then came back and said no you can’t use it.

I then asked to speak to the senior staff, and politely stated that I had called and the person on the phone said it would be fine etc, and he looked at me and said “fine whatever, I guess we can take it” in extremely sarcastic voice, while walking away from the table, I felt so embarrassed as quite a few people around me heard his comment, I just got up and left. I will not be going back to this restaurant again.

I've been here many times to celebrate with my girl friend. The food is always delicious, my favourites are the fried snapper and grilled platter. The wine selection is extensive and the desserts are something you will want to save some room for.

If you are reading this, don't ever consider this restaurant. They have the worst service and the worst seafood platter for two ever had!

Was looking for a restaurant with good atmosphere to take my girlfriend out last Thursday night. And decided to try this place out.

Ordered the hot seafood platter for two. For a $99 seafood platter, it only had two pieces of salmon, two pieces of barramundi, 3 BBQ king prawns, 4 Alaskan Crab legs, and 4 pieces of BBQ Calamari served on smoking coal and some dipping sauces.

The worst happened when my girlfriend and I started eating the barramundi fillets. Both of the fillets had about 8 large bones in total! Told the waiter about this, and he went in to check with someone, and came back saying he could give us some discount for it. As I didn't want to spoil the night for both of us, we agreed.

Smoking coal was just a attention seeking decoration as there was no heat from it, except to grab side walkers' attention. Crab legs were therefore served in cold. King prawns were ok but I've had better, Salmon was cooked on the outside and left raw inside, and the calamari was just standard.

When I got the bill, there was no discount provided! So I kindly asked the waiter about this and he asked me to check with another waiter at the counter. The waiter at the counter was rude and said he cannot give discount because of there are a couple fish bone in the fish. I asked him, do you know how many there were? He said yes but did not provide the number. I asked how did you see it as he was never at our table. He said he saw them in the left over plates at the back.

I said, for a $99 seafood platter, I don't expect to find bones in the fish fillets. He then went on with a duck meal he had the other night that he also found bones, but didn't think it was a big deal. I said, I had barramundi and not duck! He finally gave me 10% discount but still rambling that he cannot believe this, asking for a discount for a couple of bones found in the fish. I told him, this is what your other waiter agreed upon. You may ask him about it, he said he will, but the other waiter just walked past and he never asked him.

I never posted a bad review on here, but I felt so dissatisfied I need to warn everyone who is considering having a seafood platter here.

Dined at Blue Fish on Good Friday with two friends , ordered the family/giant seafood platter plus two bottles of wine. The food was acceptable for a touristy venue but the service was simply "atrocious"! We had asked for bowls to dispose of the shells etc , but they never came. When one of my friends asked the waitress how we were supposed to eat/share the lobster (at this stage our plates were full of shells), she just said "do you want me to get you plates for everything? Do you want me to show you how?" . She then proceeded to empty our plates into the middle of the platter and shoving them back and saying "that's how you do it!".

Finding this very unacceptable we asked to speak to the manager. It did take quite a while and when finally someone did come he just asked "so what do you want?". At no stage was an apology offered for simply pathetic staff attitude in the hospitality game and he was even reluctant to give us his name (any good manager in any good establishment would have first of all introduced him/her self and offered their help to address the problem). He finally gave his name and came across as extremely rude... have to say sorry guys, your wait staff have to be properly trained (bringing fresh plates would have easily fixed the issue) and your so called "managers" have to go back to management school... sorry but will never be back!

Very disappointed. Crayfish moray was the worst I've ever experienced. It was like it had been made, then frozen and then reheated once ordered. Garlic prawns were ordinary at best and the nasi goreng tasted like a packet meal from the supermarket. Oysters were fair but not good enough to get me back there in the future. The service was good. Pity about the food.

We had a voucher for prawns and wine and ordered another dish as well (there were 3 of us). It was beautiful weather and a great location. The food was excellent and the service first class. We will return (have purchased another voucher) and enjoy the seafood and views etc.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch on Tue 17 Jan. Our wait staff and service was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome. Our family sized seafood platter was amazing with all seafood cooked as it was expected and fresh melt in the mouth flavours. I had seen some other reviews complaining about the platter but ours was great so I think you need to judge for yourself as we did. Enjoyed the ambience. Overall a great dining experience. Thank you to the management, chefs and staff of Blue Fish we will be back for more.

Lovely place, purchased a deal online for prawns, we were given 17 fat yummy prawns each in our buckets. Superb.

Hi we came here on a scoopon deal for prawns and wine and ordered another dish as well. The restaurant is in a great spot and the food was lovely but the service but nothing short of unfriendly. Started with beers and had to ask where they were after 10 minutes of waiting. Most of the staff are just not cheerful and we felt it a punish to have to ask them for something.
