Waited 35 minutes for sandwich, salad and another 10 for garlic bread. Unfriendly staff, even worse senior staff. Food nice but overpriced. Just because they are next door to Enmore Theatre, does not mean that price should be that high. Even for expensive food, service is So Not To Come Back!

Sign on door says "air conditioned inside". They ushered us in and made us sit at a table right under the "air conditioner" which was blowing lukewarm air mostly because they kept the front door open the whole time, blowing in super hot air!

The food was bland, hash browns are frozen kind from supermarket, poached eggs were obviously microwaved and avocado on my breakfast plat stringy and mushy! the waitress was nice. The senior staffs hover around and shout at each other and the waitresses. It was like being in an old persons lounge room, or over at your friends house and their parents won't go away. Never again!

Food not so great but edible. Service decent, however, I found the senior staff to be too friendly to the point of irritating.

First rule of ethnic restaurants (The Blue Fig has pretenses of being Mediterranean): Beware of those which are not run by that ethnicity.

If we had applied this essential rule we would have given Blue Fig a wide berth. As it was we were met with truly awful food (steak in a supposed mushroom and peppercorn sauce with not a hint of mushroom in sight. Brown 'frites' overfried in nearly rancid oil).

The service from the very young and inexperienced wait was reasonable, but when we complained to the senior staff about the quality of the food we were met by complete indifference.

Frankly it seems to us that The Blue Fig only survives on the overflow from the many other excellent restaurants around the Enmore Theatre, which is frankly the only reason we were here. We wished we had left The Blue Fig behind and found a decent alternative in nearby Newtown.

The 'Blue Fig': Definitely not Recommended. Only if you are desperate, dateless and can't wait for a table almost anywhere else in Enmore.
