I was shocked by the BYO price silently increased to $10 per bottle. I would rather pay for your wine than BYO!? I understand that the license is still in process but charging $10 per bottle was a bit rich? perhasp you should change to $5 per person? a shock before the night started. 4 course menu was not so special I must say. Service was excellent. Should not be categorize as Japanese-French as there's nothing about Japanese in the dish.

The food was awful, the people were rude, and the ambience was non existent, very authentic, just like France, don't visit. There are may other better eateries around - underwhelming.

Three of us had dinner on the 30/8. Like most people, we've got to give their degustation menu a try. Between the three of us, we've ordered the yellow fin tuna, scallops, duck, lamb, steak and pasta. It is hard enough to get one or two of these dishes right, credits to the chef, we were served with perfectly cooked dishes for everything. $65 is a great price for what you're getting.

Staff were friendly, helpful and have a good knowledge of what they are serving. Along with only $5 per bottle BYO corkage, it is hard not to go back again.

I went to have dinner on 22/8. We were welcomed by the chef. The atmosphere was great - modern and warm decorations, they used 'real' tablecloth (no cut out paper).

When they showed us the menu, we were interested in the degustation menu and asked whether the chef can choose the courses for us. Every piece of seafood (salmon, scallops) was very fresh, the sauce was very French; we also had the steak and it was so juicy and very tender. Every course was a wonderful surprise chosen by the chef. For the finale (dessert), the chef gave two of us the raspberry soufflés and the others to have creme brulee, I have to say the soufflé is one of the best I have ever eaten but the creme brulee is 'ok' (a little bit dry); the chef understood that we didn't quite enjoy the creme brulee and offered us an extra dessert (chocolate cake) and this was very good.

The chef, the Maitre de and another Japanese waiter were all very good in ensuring every guest was being looked after well. But there was a young waiter and a waitress, sometimes they misunderstood us or they had forgotten where our wine bottles were placed but they both had good attitudes and all compensated by great smiles, hope their service will gradually improve. Half of the customers in the restaurants were Japanese and it seems the chef knew all of them.

We will definitely go back and we are glad such a high quality restaurant is opened here and give us more choices when going out. They only charge $5 per bottle for BYO, very fair.

Walked past BlancHaru on the weekend and was so excited that there was a new restaurant (and BYO at that) in the neighbourhood. Elizabeth Bay is crying out for some new restaurants and bars so this was a welcome surprise.

We dined there last night. Luckily we made a booking as they were booked out and were turning away customers without reservations all night. The ambience was lovely and service excellent. I was surprised by the prices which seemed very inexpensive but appropriate for a local BYO. The white table clothes (without the paper over the top) were a welcome surprise!

The food was very nice. Yellow fin tuna for an entree was delicious as were the oysters done three ways. We had the duck and the salmon for mains and both were very nice. Portion sizes were perfect. I was surprised by the predominantly japanese influence (because it is french/japanese fusion) but all was very tasty.

We shared the souffle for dessert which was AMAZING. Best I've ever had. We were then offered freshly baked petit fours by the waitress and again before we left by Chef Haru himself. We'll be back. Very impressed but more excited about having a great new restaurant which is interesting and pleasant to dine at.

Fabulous food at bargain prices at this new french/japanese Bistro by the ex-head chef of Galileo Restaurant at the observatory hotel. 2 degustation menu (4 choice, your choice off the menu i.e. 1 x entree, 1 x pasta/rissoto, 1 x main, 1 x dessert) and corkage = $135.00 unbeatable....simple food withfresh high quality produce in a minimilistic setting.

Worthy of a try and once breakfast and lunch open it'll definitely be a hit, but I guess the fact that they have no licence at all at the moment is a weakness. Been told to wait a month to see the wine list.
