I ordered the vegetarian. The lentil patty was bland and boring, there was so much rocket I pulled most of it off and it was still like eating grass, the halloumi was just a tiny slice right in the middle of the burger and the sauce was uninteresting. And it wasn't cheap! Wouldn't go back.
Great little burger place. The store is well designed, however, the Paddington store is a little crammed. I loved the kitschy tomato sauce bottles, the mini trolleys the chips come in etc Great ideas!
The mini burgers are also a great idea, especially for those who like to try a few things. The only thing about this place is that it doesn't seat many people, and the food can take a while to come out.
Food way too expensive, too small, and quality not there, burgers in any of the other places on Oxford are better and about half the price. They got our order wrong, then tried to scrape off the incorrect toppings and try to hand it back to us 15 minutes later, for 20 bucks a burger I think everybody expects more.
Love it love it love it.. regular burger was great, the bread was amazing. The mini burgers were adorable and taste extremely good. I wouldn't go with the chicken burger though. The chips on the other hand were fantastic. Will definitely return!
Whoever thought of this concept clearly worked in marketing in a previous life. The attention to detail and the brand experience is excellent. Of course, after all the hype the food must live up to expectations. Happily, I thought the food was great and reasonable value for eating out in Paddington.
The service was ok, on the Thursday night I went it seem to be managed by a group of well meaning backpackers who seemed to be learning English. The food did take about 25-30 minutes to arrive, but this is explained this on the menu so we were pre-warned. My recommendation, if you don't want to pay $15 for a burger in the Eastern Suburbs, then go elsewhere and feed the family for the same price.
Love it, love it, love it. Came over on holiday from England and someone recommended Bite Me. It was great, the burgers are fabulous, tasty and excellent value. The onion rings are so tasty. Would love a Bit Me to open in England, bring it on please .
The food is overpriced for what it is, and the portions are small. Went there on thursday night, ordered 2 burgers for takeaway, took half an hour, we were actually thinking of cancelling it..
Wasn't expecting this restaurant to be all that crash hot after reading some of these earlier reviews, however, we had a very good meal at Bite Me on Saturday night. The mini burgers are really small. Much smaller than the ones pictured in Bite Me's ads and on their wall, however, the regular sized burgers are quite large and delicious too, especially the lamb tastic with haloumi cheese.
The trolley of chips contained a substantial amount of chips cooked to perfection. The communal table that can fit around 18 people is a great idea and allowed some interaction with other diners which was another highlight of the night.
Although the price is comparable to other gourmet burger establishments, you don't normally have to pay extra for chips. Luckily the staff kept handing out vouchers for free chips during the night, which although a bit unusual, was most welcome.
To finish off the night we all ordered icecream sandwiches. The limited edition Espresso lace ice cream was great. We had extremely good attentive service throughout the night, possibly due to the restaurant only being about half full. We will be returning shortly.
I went there today and had the Lamb burger, the haloumi and yoghurt were a great combo. The meat was delicious and the bread very fresh and organic which was a nice touch. Excellent service, excellent concept. The communal table is a bit off-putting but it actually works. I'll definitely be back.
What a shame - it could have been done so well. All the branding and hype were perfect but sadly the burgers just don't live up to it. Our burgers were hot on the outside but cold in the middle which screams reheating for that sort of money and waiting time I expect a freshly cooked burger.
Chips were good and hot which was a nice contrast! I emailed the website about my experience and received an apology saying they were having teething issues and offering a free meal which was nice but I won't be returning. If a burger place can't cook a burger there must be something wrong. Burgers in Plumers at Fiveways are half the price and delicious.
