Overview
Bistro Lilly is a true dining experience, offering contemporary Australian cuisine in a casual but elegant setting. We are situated in the Observatory Tower in Sydney's historic Rocks only minutes walk from central CBD and Sydney's leading hotels. With polished timber floors, a stylish interior and views over Darling Harbour Bistro Lilly is the perfect setting for either lunch or dinner.
Signature dishes include Roasted Canadian Scallops with black truffle risotto, Qeensland Soft Shell Crab and pan fried Mahi-Mahi with braised mussels, faro and lime and coconut broth. The clinking of glasses, animated chatter and soft laughter complete the scene.
The Private Dining Room is ideal for those special occasions and can
accommodate from 10 - 25 guests. Bistro Lilly is fully licensed and offers an extensive wine list.
On a Wintery and windy Thursday evening we head over to Bistro Lilly for their Spring Menu. The two of us braved the cold weather to come dine at a time when most would have stayed at home but we came out with no regrets.
Food: We started off by sharing a wonderful pan-seared scallops between us. Four sweet tasting marina mollusc that I would consider upsizing to a main size because they were divine. Our mains were the Scotch Fillet and Prawn+Clam Linguini. The Scotch Fillet was chosen with the Horseradish sauce which I think worked quite well with the fillet but my partner thought it was wasabe-like too strong.
The Linguini also was a very nice dish in which fresh prawns can be tasted in a tomato based sauce with a hint of spice. The best dish was to come and it was Bistro Lilly’s signature Yucatan Chocolate Pudding. It was a fantastic dessert on a cold chilly night and though it can be shared between two people due to its slight richness, it was one dessert I definitely would like to triple upsize. Yum!
Ambience: Quiet nice there was just another couple sitting a few tables and after an hour the restaurant became a private dining venue for us. No complaints because we are here to enjoy the food.
Service: Cher and Marc are a pair of polite host that do make you feel welcome. Service with professionalism and a smile. Keep up the great work.
Overall: Price for an entree + 2x mains + an excellent dessert was $115.
Went to Bistro Lilly last week with some overseas visitors. It was a very busy when we arrived but the staff were very relaxed and made us all feel comfy as soon as we sat down. We all enjoyed the food and our friends from overseas were very impressed. I recommned Bistro Lilly for a great night's dining.
I had 5 course degustation menu there. Maybe I have been too spoilt in my previous experiences at having degustation at other restaurants however this was the worst one I have ever had (the dessert was the only good thing on the menu).
This is the first time we come for dinner. We've been trying the 5 course of degustation. It was fantastic. Especially the dessert. It was taste so good. And the service was manage so perfectly. Friendly and polite. We will come back again later for sure.
It was a wonderful dining experience for me and wife. The food was top notch and the degustation menu was superb. If we're in Sydney we'll definitely go again.
We took our mum here for Mothers' Day and we all had a great time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very nice. Our mum wants to return very soon !!
Have eaten here twice in the last 3 months and on both occasions it was very enjoyable. The Lamb shank is perfectly cooked with a nice sauce. The service is also good with some very attentive staff who are always smiling.
I took my mother and some friends here yesterday for an early Mother's Day Lunch. We were greeted by friendly staff that gave us several tables to choose from. We chose a great table near the window and I knew this was going to be a nice day.
For entrees we ordered soft shell crab, scallops and the lamb. All the dishes were beautiful and tasty. For main courses we ordered the ehole barramundi which fantatic and the Linguini with Prawns. The main courses were excellent and full of lovely flavours. Our waiter was very friendly, polite and had good knowledge of the wines.
Took my wife here last night for her Birthday. Great night out, had some really lovely food and the service was excellent. We plan to return and have their degustation which looks good.
