Have been here a few times for business lunches and business functions and found it to be very good so was very much looking forward to having dinner with my husband here on a Saturday night. However, I was a little disappointed, we had received a gift voucher from my sister in law, not a discount coupon from an Internet offer, a real gift voucher.
We mentioned the voucher when booking as it said we were required to do so and we really felt that the service was not great and that this was likely linked to the use of the voucher. It was as though we would not usually dine in such establishment but for the voucher and that assumption was made about us.
Having dined in many other fine restaurants in and around Sydney, if you have a Bistor Lilly budget I would suggest you look around, there are plenty of great places that will match or even better the food and in much better locations with views or close to nice bars for before/after drinks. If you are after a business lunch and dressed in your best suit then you will probably find the experience enjoyable.

I really wanted to hate Bistro Lilly. This is the only voucher I have ever bought and I found it nearly impossible to redeem, but eventually got in just before their black out period.
Had dinner here with already negative feelings, but was impressed and they turned me around from the start. They were actually prepared for us, and the table was set appropriately (more cutlery than standard tables and menu waiting) and small touches like the warm bread, French butter and roasted garlic were appreciated. We upgraded the menu to include the scallops and matching wines. The matching wines were flights rather than standard pours, but for $32 what do you expect?
I have heard that a lot of restaurants give lower service to those who use vouchers, but they were flexible and even let us substitute the dessert wine which was appreciated. We really want to savour our dinner, and the waiter helped time our mains to our liking.
Food was amazing and service was very polished. The flavours were very subtle and the presentation was perfect.
We had six glasses of wine in total (including the one included with the voucher) and they accidentally charged us for the six glasses of matching wines (rather than five). Once we mentioned the oversight it was rectified immediately and they were very apologetic. Mistakes happen, and it was a relief to get an apology and not to have to argue our case.
Overall - Had been looking forward to dining here for at least four years and it was worth the wait. Was very impressed and can't wait to be back.

Tried the 5 course degustation with spreets voucher. I've tried a number of services with spreets vouchers and usually feel rushed and treated with less consideration but this time I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was booking relatively hassle free, they even contacted me to confirm the booking.
Service and food was excellent and when we told them we had a show to make later that night, they did their best to accommodate us with meals coming promptly but without feeling rushed. On the whole, the food was good, we also added the scallops dish which did not disappoint. The cannelloni dish was our favourite but the brulee came a close second. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Had one of the best Steaks here last night that I have had in a Sydney Restaurant for a long Time. Excellent value and the place has a nice romantic feel with soft lighting and nice jazz playing in the background. Worth a visit for sure.

I have been to Bistro Lilly about 3- 4 times over the past year or so and I am always impressed by the way the they are constantly improving the menu, the wine list and the service. I love places that change the menu , each visit gets better. The Staff here arealwsys friendly and not pushy. The prices are a little expensive but worth it.

Food was not great at all... Not worth the money spent. Only good thing is the ambiance is nice. However they have an open kitchen so when you come out you will spell of oil, like coming out of a chinese restaurant or korean BBQ. Also you won't believe it but they overcharged me by $1 for the bill, I let it go because I was planning to round up the bill for the tip anyways. But when I checked my credit card statement they again overcharged me the another $1 above what I wrote in the total... LOL seriously, they are that desperate to scam their customers out of $1 or $2... They can keep it! They obviously need it more than I do. I love eating out, and this has never happened in my lifetime of using my credit card nationally and internationally.
Response from Management:
Thank you Kevin. We feel that you have not fully explained the circumstances regarding your overcharging. We did explain to you when you called us that this was a mistake made by the cashier on the night. We apolgised and offered to refund your money.

Finally got to tried Bistro Lilly (with a coupon), had missed a couple of opportunity to dine here so expectation was high.
I was amazed that the restaurant is only half full on a Saturday night but this didn't bother me. In fact, there were only 2 waiters for the whole night but the service by the young waiter was friendly and adequate.
Candle light makes the restaurant romantic. I was attracted by the menu and what it has on offer however, whilst the dishes were generally nice but it lack the "wow" factor throughout.
Amuse Bouche - Fish Soup (ok).
Sourdough Bread With Whole Roasted Garlic And Isigny Sainte Mere Butter - nice bread and great with roasted garlic.
Alaska King Crab Cake - I was looking forward to this but it was dry and lacks taste.
King Crab And Brandade Cannelloni, Tomato Relish and Lobster Cream - this is the best dish of the night.
Espresso Creme Brulee, Wattleseed & White Chocolate Sable, Chocolate Espresso Beans - as expected however everyone on the table commented that the sable was nice.
Overall, Bistro Lilly is a nice restaurant for a romantic dinner. It was a worth trying experience with a voucher in terms of value but this may not fill you if you are a big eater.

I have dined here twice in the past 6 months. First visit we had the 6 Course degustation and enjoyed it so much that we promised to return. The Degustation is great value and all the dishes were delicious. My last visit here was part of a work function and once again the food and service were first rate. I cannot wait to return.
