Overview of Garden Court

The Garden Court, located on Level 5, provides guests with an unprecedented dining experience in the unique setting of an urban oasis amidst the bustling city. With an emphasis on earthy colours and warm tones bathed in natural light, the restaurant reflects the vibrant, energetic nature of Sydney.

The Garden Court offers an inviting, bright conservatory feel with clean lines, stylish new furniture, a private dining room behind rich drapery and an open kitchen. Circular forms, lush foliage and curved lines will bring the outside in and create a light, bright and fashionable area for any occasion. The heritage Greek motif from the Garden Courtyard outside is replicated inside with classic black and white floor inlays, giving cohesion, rhythm and a unique European style to the interiors.

The new menu features modern contemporary cuisine with a French influence that combines a tradition of cooking high quality produce chosen to the season.

Now new at Garden Court and Sofitel is our luxurious afternoon tea. Featuring a full range of deluxe Ronnefeldt tea, sweet and savoury treats, and the Wentworth hotel's very own signature cheesecake.

Not what we expected. A fairly casual feel, more like a brasserie than fine dining in ambience. Comfy chairs though. Rolls were quite nice, although cold and not entirely fresh. Not sure why they weren't warmed, takes little effort and makes a big difference. Black mussels for entree were delicious. Husband not so happy with the thick, dark, heavy French onion soup. Bouillabaisse quite nice, husband's lamb perfectly cooked but strangely served with just a corn muffin.

Salad ordered merely a pile of rocket. Had the most terrible French cab merlot ever. Maybe it was even off-shocking taste and nose. Overall, quite ok, but better out there.

My husband took me here for our wedding anniversary. I was very dubious as we've had some terrible experiences with hotel restaurants. However, from the moment we stepped into the peaceful surroundings it was a very difference place. The service was lovely, we were seated near the garden, the tables are nicely spaced apart and the food - French - was beautiful. We had trout confit, and then bouillabaisse and steak for mains. For dessert I had creme brulee and it was delicious. Gorgeous food, lovely atmosphere, what a surprise. I need to rethink my views on hotel restaurants, this one's a keeper.

Went there with a group of friends for lunch, the food was bland, poorly (under) cooked, and the "braised" duck was a shade of pale grey and may well have been prepared originally the week before.

The service was also bad, we arrived and were not served for about 15 minutes, and even then we almost had to shout across the (empty) restaurant for attention. The only and I mean only upside to our meal there was that they failed to charge us for one of the meals, and undercharged us for two of them. I would not wish the food there upon anyone under any circumstances. There are a number of far nicer places literally right next door.

I recently had a work lunch at Garden Court, located in the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney, and by far was one of the best meals I have had in Sydney. The staff were professional, friendly, and respected that we were on a work lunch and mindful of time. If you are entertaining clients, or would like a nice lunch with family or friends, I highly suggest the Garden Court in Sydney.

During a week in May I ate here for dinner on 3 occasions. Prices are high as you would expect for a very good restaurant but the variety and the quality of the food was excellent. An Angus steak was a bit chewy but overall everything, including side dishes, was great eating.

We had dinner at this very lovely restaurant very recently and it was a pleasure to dine. The French inspired food was very well executed and the flavours of the items on the plate were kept natural and delicious. The choices of the menu are good, however, could have been bigger, but I believe the menu is changing every 3-4 month so I was told, well that's a bonus because the chef will incorperate more seasonal produce especially within Australia.

After the main course we also had the opportunity to endulge into the Wentworth Cheese Buffet. What a treat. So many cheeses from around the world, mostly French. The wine list is very good with a good selection of wines from Australia and France. Service and ambience could have been a bit more attentive, however, it was still a very good night dining at the Garden Court Restaurant. We will be back. Thank you.

Went there last night 4 adults and one child. The food was great and well executed cooking method and tenderness and freshness of the product. The service was attentive and personal with a beautiful french backdrop accent to it. Just a memorable night. Highly recommended it.

A lovely French inspired restaurant that is pleasantly hidden away in the Sofitel. The perfect location for a quiet dinner for two. Food is wonderfully capable and of fine quality but nothing too exciting or unique. The roast duck was so tender and the bouillabaisse was increadibly tasty. Dessert menu wasn't particularly inspiring but at $5 for a petit pastry there is bound to be something to tempt. The chocolate gauteau on offer really rounded of the meal beautifully. We had a lovely meal but probably a bit too expensive and not unique enough for regular visits.

Food - Beetroot puree soup was new and nice, sweet and slightly chilled, Cappaccio of wagu beef was melt in the mouth material. Salmon mousse was not very mousse like but packed with slamon. Their signature main, quail was very tasty with the trumpet mushrooms really going well with the quail. Salmon was also nice and simple. Comes with mash or fries, my fries came out so hot that I could feel the heat on my face as it was on the table. Which is great! no soggy chips.

Pre dessert is amazing! Pomegrante juice with cream and strawberry mousse. Cream brulee was big! and not too sweet and apple tart didn't fail with a fine crispy. The place looks nice overall, nicely lit. Service is 5 star, from pouring of drinks to bringing anything you need. The place is roomy so don't be afraid to ask for a like table to hold your sides or drinks. Value - The food is very well priced! for the quality and service, you be silly to not try it!

This place is pretty good for a hotel restaurant. We went there (5 of us) and the place was pretty busy, but it was a hushed busy, the whole room felt so nice a cosy. We all loved the great big comfy chairs. The food was quite good, very old fashioned but very tasty and good portion sizes.

The French waiter who looked after our table was a absolute hot, he picked up on everything and had a laughing along with him. He and and the manager must have been working together for years they bounced off each other so well, both were quite educated about food and wine.

All the staff in this restaurant and hotel seemed to be happy to be working there it was great. We ended up int the hotels lounge bar afterwards listening to jazz. It was well worth the visit. The only shock was the expensive carpark at the end of the night.

A couple of years later and we came back.

We still think this is a good restaurant. It looks great after its reno and the food is fantastic. This service was a little all over the place this time, the waiter was clearly an experienced person but must have been new to the hotel.

I noticed that the French waiter still works there and wish we had have been sat in his section. The big old bar across from the restaurant is gone, which is a good thing as it used to be so noisy. Will be back more often now.
