Excellent food. I think its the best indian restaurant in Sydney as far as food taste is concern. The best.

Food is largely very tasty. Billu’s Khasta Kachori, Aloo Tikki, and Saffron Tikka (Chicken) are standouts for mine. I think I would give the Seekh Kebab (lamb mince) and Ice Cream a miss next time around.

Service is wanting. The couple of waiters there seem to get overwhelmed in providing proper service to the many diners that were there. We had a dish we ordered not delivered at all, but we were not charged for it either.

Presentation of some of the dishes really should be improved. We had entrees served to us on disposable plastic plates with a disposable plastic spoon to serve ourselves. I mean that is absolutely something I would not expect anywhere except a take away food hall, and plastic plates do not do the fantastic flavours of the food any justice whatsoever.

There was a bit of wait for the food, but if you can get past service that is a little lacklustre and entrees served on plastic plates, the gastronomic pleasures are all there.

Overall value is very good and I would see no reason not to return here to Billu's, other than the fact there is a street full of other tempting Indian Restaurants to try there in Wigram St Harris Park. It is kind of like an Indian Norton St. Enjoy.

Seeing all the bad comments on Billu Parramatta, I must say I have been there at least 8 times and never had the problems that was in the reviews. The food was always good, the service was not that bad. And I would definitely go again. The choice of food and dessert was fantastic. Can't say the same about Billu Epping as they don't serve Dosa.

Can't complain about the food, but definitely there is a scope for improvement. Service had lot to be explained. Smile from their face is gone, they were trying to avoid eye contact.

Very poor service, will never be back. We went next door to Chutney which was much better in terms of service and food quality.

Went here this saturday night. Food was decent, but service here is dreadful. Waiters walk around and don't even look at tables to see who requires service. I certainly won't be back.

I got to the restaurant at 8 am as advertised for breakfast. It did not open till 8:40. I ordered a takeaway at 8:40 and it took them 1 hour to make 6 Paratha's. I'm indian, I know it takes a restaurant 2 minsute to make a paratha's. They get one star for blatantly lying to me.

When I complained the waiter told me the place was full, at 9 am on a saturday there were a total of 5 people at the restaurant. Great food. But for better service go to your local mcdonalds.

There were many indian restaurant in this street. They have outdoor and indoor seating available we sat inside as it was too cold outside. The waiter we had could not have seemed less interested in us and had a frown on his face the whole time we were there. The food took quite a while in coming out (30 minutes) but was very nice. The goat curry in particular was very nice.

I think Billu's and billu's vegetarian are back to back to each other but on different streets.

Billu's is easily the most popular place for lunch in Harris Park, but then again roughly half the other restaurants are closed during this time.

I got the non vege thali, while its bigger than other thali's I've had other places, the portion size still feels a bit small. Food wise it was nice but nothing that makes it better than your average indian restaurant.

Food took a reasonable amount of time to come out, prices are reasonable too. They have a good selectons of indian sweets also.


14/02/08: This is a indian snack and tea house,this is Indians equivalent to the Chinese's yum cha/dim sum or Spanish tapas.

The Billu's I'm reviewing is at 12 Station St, Harris park.

The lady asked me whether i can eat spicy food or not, im not Indian myself but it was good she asked me because i am weak to the power of the chilli.

This is all vegetarian.and she suggested a few dishes, what i was most impressed with was the samosa chat which was great!! Dabeli was nice and something different.

Ambience: it's a small place, im not even sure if they have a toilet somewhere and they have a basin in the shop to wash your hand

Service:reading the other reviews, yes it can be slow with the food and i can imagine if there was lots of people,the wait would be long. They must not have many people working in the kitchen. I was 1 of 3 customers, and though i got my food first it was a little slow. The points i gave for service is the friendliness of staff and helping me pick what to eat!!

Value: its reasonable priced

Overall this would of been a good experience but my stomach wasnt good afterwards,i dont think there is a Billu's on Wilgram street anymore but i could be wrong......

14/2/08: Food is good and there is a variety of sweets here too. But when we came in, we had no idea if to just sit down and wait or order first. Looks like order first but we sat down first!!

If you are looking for a quiet Indian dinner and attentive waiters, then Billu's is not for you. But if you want tasty Indian cuisine and willing to be a little patient, you will be happy with Billu's. They do make a very nice masala dosa. Kid's are also well looked after with a good range of food.
