Overview of Bibim, to mix.

our most popular dish is dolsot (hot stone bowl) bibim-bap (mixed rice).

what you get is a super hot stone bowl with a layer of rice topped with 6 freshly prepared vegetables and your choice of marinated beef, chicken or pork. you also get a side of kochujang (chilli paste) but dont worry, it's mild on the heat and packed full of flavour - we suggest you add the whole amount.

mixed at the table, the dish sizzles as the stone bowl brings all the flavours together whilst imparting a crispy texture to the rice.
wash this all down with a bowl of doenjang-guk (fermented soybean soup) and dine like the Korean kings of old.

a great experience that not only tastes awesome, is really healthy for you too!

I love this place. The food is absolutely delicious! The staff are very friendly and every thing is reasonably priced. I definitely recommend the ginger tea and the dolsot bibimbap both are the best I've ever had. The only down side is the setting. Whilst their decore is nice the shop is located right near a road which ruins the atmosphere for me a bit. Great for a casual meal out but definitely not the place to go for an intimate or fancy dinner. Love it though!

    Response from Management:
Thanks Shaezy, we're glad you enjoy the food!
try our new winter range when you're in next - i love the slow cooked ribs!

Yeah, William St can be a bit of a pain when rev heads and bikies burl up to the cross or your saturday night run of ambulances go by but i guess it's part and parcel of our location.
bring a group of friends for a nice chat over a meal and i bet you wont hear a thing! :)

I must say I've been here a few times now and Bibim to mix never fails! You can feel the heart and soul of the owners in everything... from the truly authentic, delicious food right down to the cup of ginger and honey tea.

I went with a big group of friends for a birthday dinner. We hadn't made a booking, but they were able to accomodate us all.

We ordered tons of food, and it worked out at about $20 a head which was pretty amazing considering how much we all ate. The dumplings were yummy, but their meals in the hot stone bowls were the best. Very nice with some of the chili paste added. The pancakes were also nice.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. My only complaint would be that the outdoors area possibly needs a second outdoor heater. I would definitely go back!

    Response from Management:
    Thanks ikkyg!

You and your friends were all lovely. Thank you for the kind words which mean a lot to us considering everyone in your group had visited Korea before. We hope the food reminded you of good times had there.
Hopefully the next time you visit we'll have our license and be able to offer you soju and Makgeolli as well :D

Haha, apologies about the lack of heaters! This weather lately has been crazy and we almost got rid of all of them but decided to hold onto that last one. Lucky we did, since there was no soju on offer to warm you up!

Hope to see you all again soon.

Awesome! Especially the mother in law's kimchi and soya bean paste in my lettuce wrap/pork dish. The date tea was delicious! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Korean food. Great Value! Definitely go back again.

    Response from Management:
    Thank you niquey82!

We love mum's kimchi so much that we wanted to share it with everyone.
My mother-in-law's kimchi' is $2 a pop and yes, Pil's mum really does make it at home, the authentic, old-fashioned way.

    See you again soon!

Thanks so much for the great lunch today! I took a dozen co-workers - most of whom had never had Korean before - and they all really enjoyed it. It was also really great of you to invent the low-carb bibimbap for us. We will definitely be back! :)

    Response from Management:
    Thanks Kristine H.
It's really great getting people who've never tried Korean food before in for the first time. We've got a long way to go to get more of that awareness out there.

We've since suggested the low-carb bibimbap to other people who are watching their intake and they've all loved it too. Thanks for your idea and hope to see you again soon!

Lovely food! My friends who don't normally enjoy Korean food really liked it. Quite a few vego options which is unusual for a Korean restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly. Come and get some bibimbap!

    Response from Management:
    Thanks S L.

The difference is that we are trying to make authentic soul food like Korean mums make at home. Being the only Korean in my neighbourhood growing up in the 80's, my friends would rave about the food my mum used to prepare. It goes far beyond gimmicky 'Korean BBQ' and kimchi. Glad you guys enjoyed the experience!

Came here for a quick bite with friends and was really impressed by their food. The beef dolsat was beautifully put together with the ingredients and flavours exquisitely paired. Excellent prices and fun atmosphere.

    Response from Management:
Thanks jtito. We appreciate the great feedback. Hope to catch you and your friends again soon.

Stopped by here one day when I was caught in the rain. They noticed me staring at the menu from under my umbrella and offered me a menu to take with me. I went inside instead and I'm glad I did. I had the beef dolsat (in a hot stone bowl) with an egg on top. The egg is mixed in with the sauce and the rest of the ingredients when it is served and it cooks in the bowl. The rice around the edges becomes deliciously crispy! Great value for a nourishing and satisfying meal. The place has a great atmosphere. I'm definitely bringing my friends here.

    Response from Management:
    Thanks Susannah S,
We're glad you came in out of the rain too!
Hope to see you and your friends here soon. Thanks for the nice review.

Pretty chuffed this spot opened up near my work. A slight improvement from the Kebab shop that filled the space before.

Food is always great and service exceptional, good enough that I should come on here and write a review. The dolsot is awesome, and not to be missed.

They do takeaway (not the hot bowl though, derr) but eat in to enjoy a really nice looking little restaurant and lots 'o' smiles. Keep it up, I'll be back.

    Response from Management:
    Hi Andrew B,
Thanks for the kind words. We've recently expanded our 'dolsot' menu. It's definitely worth eating in-house and having the dolsot upgrade in our opinion too!

My partner and I were walking past this place on Saturday night and thought we would give it a try, we are so glad we did! The food was amazing, the staff were so nice and really went out of their way to give us a great dining experience. We were so full when we left and only spent about $25.

    Response from Management:
Thanks Foofyfan83 for the kind words!
