Great food, good price, surprise for our local area. We originally would get take away delivered from there and thought it was good. When we went to the restaurant for the first time we were not disappointed food is beautiful and are now a regular customer. Food is authentic and priced well.

Went to this restaurant for the first time tonight. Had an enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly, good service and good food. Good value for money. Would recommend this restaurant to others.

I am really puzzled by some of the almost incomprehensible, no food description reviews of this restaurant. When a chinese restaurant is heavily populated by chinese patrons you know that there must be something good about the place. This was supposed to be a review of the 'peking duck restaurant' at Beverly Hills but we were turned away last night just after 7, as they said they were too full, despite having two tables. (see short review of this experience).
We kept walking and came upon this, also busy, place, the Beverly Hills Chinese Restaurant. The decor inside is clean, somewhat green, and on the plainer side. No hokey chinese decor here. I liked the white table cloths and the comfy chairs. And unlike the 'peking duck restaurant' we were made to feel welcome and not out of place. I could have sat there all night and watched the interesting food come out to the tables.
Live fish, hot pots on a flame, freshly cooked crab, noodles and roasted duck. If all you are after is the usual 'western style chinese' then you will probably not be used to the menu offerings, freshness (tank to table) and quality of the cooking here. Although in fairness there are some sweet dishes available such as boneless lemon chicken, great for the kids or the unadventurous. I couldn't wait to try some of these authentic dishes.
Spying a great looking fish dish on the next table, our friendly waiter anticipated our question and informed us that it was the live, steamed barramundi with ginger and shallots. Awesome. My partner and I decided to keep it simple and order a combination of crunch, meat and fish. We ordered spring rolls ($5), then the roasted duck ($17) and the live barramundi - ($26) which we thought was extremely good value.
Washed down with a pot of chinese tea and a glass of shiraz. ($4.80) The spring rolls are worth a mention, really fresh and crunchy with actual vegetables inside that weren't mushy. Much better than the average spring roll. A plastic bag with a fishy flapping inside was quickly shown to our table, but any thoughts I had about 'poor fishy' were quickly dispelled when the mouth wateringly good steamed barra was returned to us on a plate in a lovely, light ginger and soy broth garnished attractively with shallots. This was so delicous.
The roasted duck was tender, with crunchy skin and dressed with a light, aromatic sauce. Seriously finger licking good. There was a waiter checking that the dishes were cooked properly it is nice to see a restaurant with good quality control. Our white table cloth was no longer white as a testament to the gusto with which we ate.
The whole experience was wonderful and very authentic. As for previous review complaints about the poor english spoken, for goodness sake, be patient. A smile is worth a thousand words. As we paid our (good value) bill we had a very interesting conversation about snow crabs with the lady behind the desk, we may have to try this dish next, we will be back!

I went to this restaurant by recommendation of some friends. This restaurant was, perhaps, the worse chinese food I have ever eaten. The food we ordered was not worth the price. The staff were rude and not thankful.

Won't take anyone there coz they just won't understand. Don't judge a book by its cover. The Mrs and I are happy to eat there once a week. Fresh food. Excellent seafood. Hidden gem. Well priced good food. Not much to look at. For those who enjoy real chinese.

I went there with my mother and my Chinese next door neighbours who had spoke very highly of this Chinese restaurant, and I was not disappointed. I also had no problems with communication, and the service was excellent.
As for the food, we branched away from the westernised Chinese food like sweet and sour pork etc, and we tried some traditional Chinese dishes. These were delicious, and I strongly recommend that you try some of the chef's suggestions.

I totally disagree with the previous reviewer. This restaurant is really scabby inside. I could get better dims sims from the freezer at Woolies. Also, when you see the staff picking their nose while on duty it doesn't fill you with confidence that hygiene is one of their priorities.
Ambience is non existent. As for the service, it is very hard to communicate with the staff as they can barely speak English and don't understand the most basic requests e.g. a glass of water.

I'm assuming this is the Chinese restaurant northside of the station, near the old video shop and martial arts place. Clearly the best restaurant in Beverly Hills with quality rice or noodles cooked very quickly. Prices are comparable to the fast service asian places in Hurstville, even though less competition should result in greater prices. It's only a small place (though having an aquarium and snoopy pics haha) which is why many won't have heard of it.
