A friend and I went to dinner here at 7pm on Tuesday 26/2/08. We had Chicken Larb, and also a Lamb and a Beef dish. The beef was gristly and all three dishes swam in a sea of tepid water (no semblance of what should have been a sauce!). All three were luke warm and we sent the Beef back virtually untouched, and highly unappetising.
The waitress was unsympathetic and seemed nonplussed when I asked her if she could honestly say that she would eat such meals at her own home at night. I suggested that if they continued with such lacklustre meals and service then people would not come back. She was condescendingly silent throughout and at the end of the meal we had to request that she take the cost of the beef off the bill, our host had paid before we started the meal.
Oh yes, the vegetables were all limp and looked as though they had been resting in a cold bain-marie for some time. The kitchen staff remained at his post at the sink all this time and made no effort to appease us, as the dissatisfied clientele. None of us would go back again, and our host ended up extremely embarrassed to say the least.
If you enjoy watching the traffic fly along William St, you've found the right place! I have been here multiple times for take-away as it is almost opposite my office. The rule of thumb for Thai restaurants is to compare the price of Pad Thai - $8.00 for vegetarian Thai has to be one of the best around this area. The ingredients are fresh and it is cooked and ready to go within 10 minutes.
