2008
Best Restuarant in The Hills District
Voted the best pizzeria in the Hills Shire (see notes) by Local Business Awards. Belmonte Pizzeria is the original and first Belmonte pizza shop of 5 to have opened in NSW in 1973 from the Belmonte family. The restaurant has an old look and feel with a distinct display of the historical past of Pennant Hills by way of photographs and memorabilia and a 60’s & 70’s movie theme.
When it comes to pizzas Belmonte Pizzeria is a class above the rest we offer the biggest pizzas in NSW and also the classic Italian pizza from the South (Bella’s Pizza & Pasta of Narellan) which is a thin base pizza which was never offered before at Belmonte’s.
We make 2 dough’s (thick and thin) daily and use the finest quality of produce, and as our saying states we are “ Dedicated to a Sensational Taste” We have also included a range large of salads and bruschettas making this a truly Italian Restaurant, and a Number of Pastas and of course Imported Italian Gelato.
Pasta is here so come on in and say G'day.

We were upstairs and this area with getting smoke from downstairs. Recommend a better exhaust system so that patrons can enjoy their meals more.
Response from Management:
Sorry to hear that you had some smoke as it must have been a busy night and we may have accidently turned off the fan. As long you enjoyed the food and we will make sure that this wont happen again :-).

Went here on a recommendation and have to say this place is a hidden treasure, great pizzas and pasta... And was surprised that the pasta was cooked freshly not microwaved... Great food going back again.

Sadly what was once an institution in Pennant Hills for many years has been relegated to just another average pizza shop.
The pizza dough has no flavour, they may as well be using edible cardboard if such were available. The addition of more salt and oil would easily improve the dough. Toppings are generous and do taste fresh (credit where it's due), but they run out of certain ingredients every now and then. This happened again last night (2nd time in as many months), and we were not informed until 15 minutes after placing the order. Clearly the senior staff has not mastered the skill of stock control (ie. keeping an eye on stock and always having a reasonable reserve).
The fact they have so many varieties and range of toppings would not help either in this regard. Another Big tip for the senior staff is when you do inconvenience a customer (eg. running out of stock and advising 15 minutes later), do something simple to regain their custom and salvage the situation, eg. offer a complimentary garlic bread, doesn't cost much, and could easily turn a situation around.
Let's hope the owner actually reads this review and takes notice. Running a pizza shop is a lot of work, many don't realise the hours involved, sourcing and preparing ingredients prior to actually opening the doors. Until they lift their game, drive another 2 minutes down Pennant Hills road and try Cristina's, they tick all the boxes, every time.
Response from Management:
Sorry to hear we ran out of an ingredient, unfortunately we are very busy and as things are fresh we do not over stock therefore we cannot predict the taste buds of our customers as they vary .... So we do apologise and hope to see you soon as we have a new pasta meun which is also freshly cooked not microwaved something that Christina might not have..... :-)

Belmontes Pizza at Pennant Hills would have to be the best pizza in the hills/hornsby shire area. If you want the ultimate pizza then you must try Belmontes 10 out of 10.

The best Pizza I have had for years, as I am from Brisbane and a friend recommended this place for Pizza and without doubt it was really good. I wish they could open up in Brisbane.

Without doubt the best pizza I have ever enjoyed. Try a thick Common One (strangely only on the take away menu) teamed with a bottle of Mateus Rose and you will be in culinary heaven for very little money. The service is friendly and efficent. The atmosphere is always happy and the decor is fascinating. I am happy to travel from Neutral Bay to enjoy this treasure.

Ordered three pizzas and got stiffed for around $80 when picking up - I couldn't believe it. The Pizzas were tasty but way too expensive. Threatened to never go back but relented and rang up one more time. Checked prices this time and got told it was half price. Yay - good pizza and half price. When I got there I noticed a new competitor had opened up next door. Great I thought - competition has got him charging realistic prices. Turned up to pick up and got told my two pizzas were $50 - no no I said- you told me it was half price. His response was - sorry only on a Tuesday - today is Monday. I walked out. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me! Never Again!
Response from Management:
Sorry to hear about your comment as our pricing clearly states that for thick pizza's we charge extra, and only on Tuesday as marked on our billboards we have 1/2 price pizza on traditional pizza's only for takeaway (excluding thick). I hope this clarifies any misunderstanding and our deals and pricing struture is in accordance to the produce we purchase and the quality and grade of our food.
