This is my favourite cafe at the end of our street. Why? Because the 'boys' are so welcoming and unpretentious. They remember our names, and they welcome us like old friends every time we visit.

The breakfasts are wholesome, tasty, and filled with good quality ingredients. And the coffee is the best in Manly (so my husband claims, I'm not a coffee drinker).

I'm not sure if they're still doing it, but they used to open for private functions in the evening. I booked Cartel for my husband's 40th birthday party and what a good decision that was. A quick phone call and dinner was booked. So much easier than trying to cater at home, and so much cheaper than anywhere else in Manly!

The boys prepared antipasto platters for starters, 'Mamma's' pasta and lasagne with a fresh salad for mains, and tiramisu and coffees for dessert. To save money, we bought our own beer and wine and we used their music selection to create the ambience we needed. What a great set up! That was back in November 2011 and our guests are still raving about what a good time they had and how much they enjoyed the food!

Needless to say, highly recommended.

Food was nice but service was a bit awkward. They really need a sign asking customers to order at the bar. Heaps of people asked and I found their response a bit impatient and rude.

Nice, funky cafe in Manly. Coffee is delicious, food is pretty good but a little expensive I think. Boys who run it are down to earth, friendly and super likable. Check it out!

This place is absolutely fantastic. Awesome coffee. Very friendly staff. Love the old skool decor. Cool music. For such a tiny space it has so much character. I always see a lot of regulars (including myself) going back here which is a good sign of a good business. oh, and did I mention they make the best jaffles ever!
