What a sensational venue and what value. Can't believe the standard of food I received on the fixed price dinner menu. And what about the wine list too, which also comes with a sommelier who knows just what to recommend. I'll be back with the money I saved from this visit.

Great food, romantic venue, value for food good, service not so much. I had high hopes but the service let us down. Our booking was for 8.45, it was 45 minutes before we were seated and another 45 minutes before we got our starter and the place wasn't that busy. Then our mains arrived before we'd barely finished our starters. Disappointing. Would still give it one more try though!

I have visited this restaurant for lunch, dinner and a private function. Lunch was great value for money, as we were pleasantly surprised with the $49pp for any two dishes. We selected three different entree's which were all delightful.
A bottle of pinot noir was ordered, reasonably priced, as we enjoyed our mains. The poached atlantic salmon was mouth watering and from the comments from the other two dinners I presume they were also enjoying the experience. We enjoyed the meals so much that we all ordered desserts.
I have friends that have dined here for business lunches and as mentioned previously I have returned for dinner and a private function. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and the service above average. I have always looked forward to dining at Bel Mondo's.

I ate there with a bunch of friends and could not believe the great food we were getting for only$49 for any 2 courses, the wine menu was reasonably priced as well. We all finished off by drinking cognac on the balcony. The people were really nice and relaxed which we all thought was great for a fine dining restaurant. We thought the music was cool such a variety of mix.

We stumbled across bel mondo and were welcomed in where we enjoyed some champagne on the balcony looking at the Harbour Bridge. Then we both had the capriccio for starters I had the fish and my partner had the steak both were delicious, the music, atmosphere and service were perfect and we ended the evening sharing a dessert on the balcony, I highly recommend this.

This place was once a wonderful Italian restaurant. So it was sad to see how it had changed. The food was alright but nothing special and pretty expensive. The service although friendly seemed artificial. (My pet hate is people I don’t know calling me pet names - it seems too familiar considering the relationship or in this case lack of !!!). It wasn’t a bad experience but it wasn’t great...probably wouldn’t go back of my own volution.

My partner and I have been to Bel Mondo’s on a number of occasions over the last couple of months and every experience has been a good one. We particularly enjoyed the new degustation menu and for $85 it has to be one of the best valued in Sydney. The staff are always friendly and accommodating to our requests in variations in the menu which is not always the norm around town. The drink selections are not limited to the menu either which is a bonus and the variety that is created on request is quite impressive. We will continue to come back for their food, drinks and relaxed atmosphere.

Gosh, my boyfriend and I went to Bel Mondo for a romantic dinner before I set off overseas for a bit, and what can I say! After a loaded $15 cocktail that was nice but I wouldn't recommend in a huge hurry, we headed over for a table for two in the dining area - which is decorated beautifully and has a wonderful view of the bridge and opera house.
We were a bit dubious at first, especially when a rather overbearing waitress did nothing short of virtually forcing us to have a entree and recommending a main that was simply "divine darling.." We hesitantly agreed, but discovered, when our onion soufflé and cucumber flowers arrived that it was just that. We almost cried it was so delicious! Perfect portions as well. Then we also ordered for a main the squid pasta in squid ink, which was unusual but very tasty, and some other pasta dish thing. Overall the experience was very good, even though we felt a but pressured to begin with. Great dining experience, and it didn't cost THAT much either! Recommended for sure.

Recently my husband and I discovered Bel Mondo. On the night we attended the service, food and ambience could not be faulted. We had the degustation menu and enjoyed the variety. The staff were attentive and helpful as well. We revisited a few nights later to have cocktails and were remembered. The staff were genuinely pleased to see us. We will be back soon for sure.

We had 2 delicious courses for $60 and the staff were very friendly especially the barmen mixing us pre dinner cocktails which were served to us on the balcony.
