I live in Newtown which I've found has a lot of restaurant variety (but has a lot of hits and misses). Truthfully I wasn't expecting much from this humble restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. There were three other tables occupied at the restaurant, all in the retirement age-group, which made me think uh-oh, a Chinese restaurant catering to the elderly Aussie taste, can't be good.. (I'm of Chinese descent myself)...
Anyway, we ordered the steamed Dim Sum (good) and the fillet honey pepper steak (fantastic). We wanted to give a tip to the nice middle-aged lady who was the only one there taking orders, answering the phone and talking to the customers, but she made it impossible because she put the change directly into my partner's hand. I will come back here again if I'm in the area.
It's really welcoming in there, and besides, the lady reminds me of my mum who did similar restaurant duties in a now-defunct Chinese restaurant also.
Friendly owners, excellent value for money are the reason for our repeat visits. Always leave full and love the fortune crackers and chocolate at the end of the meal. Always feel we get value for money.
Chose to go to the Beecroft Kitchen on the strength of the previous reviews below, and we were not disappointed. Food was really nice, service very friendly and prices quite reasonable. Will be definitely be returning!
The food to die for, the service very personal and generous. If you can look beyond the appearance of the place and go in then you will keep coming back for the pleasures of having your taste buds excited.
Been here a few times and the service is always great. The owners are really friendly and accommodating. The salt and pepper squid is superb. Not a negative thing to say about Beecroft Kitchen, great little suburban restaurant.
Dined here for the first time last night. Thought that the food and service was very good. Really value for money. This is a typical little suburban Chinese but the proprietors are lovely and putting in 100% effort. Definitely going again to try the Indo/Malay.
This place is what you call quality Chinese cuisine. I always thought the best places to eat Chinese were either in Chinatown or over in the western suburbs but luckily we have one out our way and not to far to travel. Service was tops and portions for food were just right and we managed to take some home with us as well which was great. Food quality is just superb and to top it all off, the prices were just unbelievable considering what we ate. *2 thumbs up* I must say a great night out and definitely will be taking my wife and kids there more often. I've travelled the world and eaten at great places but I must say this place is up there in my top Well done.
