I usually come to the Bean for weekend brekkie but am now a lunch fan too! Just had the "lambwich"....melt in your mouth and so delicious, can't believe this has been sitting on the menu and I've only just tried it, highly recommend!

Food – Bacon was overcooked; scrambled eggs definitely overcooked. The chef is very innovative with the menu but it doesn’t work for me. I can see the ‘Green Bean’ is a popular choice, good for the healthy conscience. With the French toast, I prefer more traditional. It was more like fried bread pudding with a pistachio crumble and fresh cream. Although the crumble was very nice; when you order jello, sometimes you just want plain jello. Coffee is high recommended though, very smooth texture.
Ambience & Service – Don’t come if you expect a table straight away. They’re very busy at breakfast. We had to wait 20mins for a table; a few people after us had to wait a while as well – more like a lucky dip. The place can be very loud as it’s a tad small and it can be crowded.
Value – 35 for 2 people. Pretty standard but guessing as I couldn’t eat much of the food, it felt a bit overpriced.
All in all, I wouldn’t rule this place out; food and all it wasn’t my thing, however, if you are a bit alternate then it might be for you.

If you get a table in here on a Sunday morning I highly recommend it. Granted the service is a tad sluggish, the food is fresh, hot and value for money.

The Bean Rolls On. I don’t know about you but how good is an old fashioned pork roll that’s been spruced up a bit!? Well, I tasted just this the other day at the new look The Bean Café, Bar and Bistro in Rozelle.
The décor is slightly more cosy and the same staff are there with welcoming smiles. The menu, however, has been revamped (with a few goodies left over from the previous selection) and now with a focus on super tasty food and mouth watering daily specials.
As tempted as I was to try the slow cooked lamb pie on the specials board my eyes couldn’t go past the roast pork roll with a side of coleslaw. It’s not just any carvery style sandwich. Juicy, juicy pork and caramelised onion are served generously in a multigrain roll (with lovely crunch on the outside). On the top was even a sampling of the crackling!
The coleslaw was fresh and slightly spiced…me thinks a bit of wasabi was used. (For those who haven’t been converted wasabi, never fear, it was ever so slight and it helps to cuts through the mayonnaise and all that delicious pork you are consuming).
My coffee was, as usual, fantastic. Baristas note, a cappuccino is not a cappuccino without splashings of chocolate on top. The Bean spoils me every time.

Worst coffee shop experience to date. There were lots of spare tables when the 2 of us entered and out of respect for the senior staff I suggested we sit in a table for 2 so she could keep the 4 seat table for other customers. She told us she would be happy for us to sit in the 4 seat table, thus we did. The coffee shop filled up and half way into our meal we noticed 2 women standing over us waiting for our table.
The senior staff slapped the bill on our table and suggested the women sit down and wait in a vacant 2 seat table until we were finished. After 15 minutes (we were still eating) we couldn’t take it anymore and went to pay. As soon as I stood up (partner still sitting) these women moved into our seating. No one else in the shop had a bill slapped on their table. What ever happened to customer service? What was the senior staff thinking?

The Coffee Bean is my favorite cafe on the peninsula and a great choice for breakfast. The food is consistently very good. The breakfast wrap is a favorite and the huevos rancheros, a new addition to the menu, is a winner. The coffee here is excellent and the service is efficient and friendly. I have lost track of how many times I have eaten here. This is the kind of place you will want to become a "regular".

One of the best coffees I've had + the portions are very reasonable, all in a relaxed atmosphere, will definitely go back.

We went here with some friends recently for brunch and absolutely loved it! The service was friendly and unpretentious, the atmosphere relaxed and the food amazing. The decorations and music give it a cool, quintessential inner west feel that seems to be lacking in so many other cafes on the peninsular. We'll be back!

Breakfast in Rozelle/Balmain area can be pretty expensive and this does not mean it will be very nice. I've tried a few in the area and have found The Coffee Bean cafe consistently good. Standard breakfasts are reasonably priced and have a great coffee included. It seems that no matter how busy the place is staff are friendy and helpful. Their 'specials' breakfasts are pretty good too.
